What is the scientific or evolutional value of guys thinking fart jokes, penises, and shots to the groin are humorous.
Wouldn’t evolution or something else weed this out of men’s thinking. If women roll their eyes and think we’re stupid wouldn’t this reduce our chances of reproducing and cause this behavior to eventually decrease in men? And yet it is there.

Perhaps it serves another useful function – like social bonding in groups of men.
I enjoy a good fart joke, but it doesn’t mean I’ll tell it to my wife.
I don’t think there are any evolutionary reasons for this whatsoever and I believe all the reasons are social in that we’re uncomfortable with any bodily fluids/wastes/noises that we make because we’re so removed from our animality (except when it serves someone to say ‘men are biologically driven to do xyz and women are biologically hardwired for xyz) that we must make fun of it, especially if others are around. It’s more socially acceptable for me to make fun of their bodies because women aren’t supposed to fart, burp, itch their crotch etc. since doing this would make them ‘like men’ (pretty dumb to think so, if you ask me) and we just must keep the sexes SO separate in order to maintain the dichotomy.
All efforts at socialization are evolutionarily adaptive.
I don’t know the answer but I do know I always tell my hubby to save it for his brother b/c I don’t even want to hear it, lol
A lot of women seem to think menstrual humor is funny, which I personally think is disgusting.
@syzygy2600 You do realize your answer follows RedPowerLady?
Believe me my red power has nothing to do with that, lol
just keeping up our normal high standards.
I’ve never found any of those kinds of jokes funny, but offensive instead. I don’t know why a lot of people, not only guys, find that sort of immature “humor” funny. It’s either gross or mean-spirited.
