By the time she was marriageable, Joe DiMaggio would have just about croaked.

She could’ve married another baseball player. Maybe Barry Bonds.

No Mr. Coffee? And all those steroids affect your sex life.

I thought everybody knew that she escaped with Elvis on a UFO after they assasinated JFK!!!

I don’t know how she’d have turned out, but i’m guessing she’d have told Elton John to shut the fuck up.

And there would have been good rehab centers for her when she entered her twenties, in 1995. Maybe her life would have ended better and lasted longer.

It is hard to tell, but her talent and beauty would still have taken her far.

I think she’d still have been a huge star. She comes right off the screen, just an amazing and timeless beauty. Simply stunning, and she’d still have made the world fall in love with her. @ucme LOL LOL brilliant!! GA <hugs> xx

I’m probably going to be hated for this but I think Marilyn Monroe was/is extremely over-rated. I don’t think she would be anywhere near as successful in Hollywood had she come to the job a few decades later. Sure, she was beautiful but certainly not the most talented singer/actress then or now and I’m not even sure her look would be as desired as it was back then. Personally I think Judy Garland was a greater loss to the entertainment world.

@bunnygrl Well he asks for it. Even more cheesy when it was rewritten for Diana, queen of hearts, perleeze.

I dont think she would near the icon that she is. I adore her.

But she was troubled, controversial and may be interpreted as Anna Nicole without the gold digging. in this age.

MM was the perfect flavor for her time. Since, we have been deluged with MM wannabes. We cannot judge what her impact now would be, since her impact then changed everything.

I think she would have still been successful. Marilyn Monroe possessed qualities that many so-called “sexy” starlets of today do not have. For example, she was one hell of an actress——watch “The Misfits” and you will see how remarkably talented she was. She also had a mysterious, very feminine quality about her. No wonder men in the 50s and early 60s went crazy over her! A lot of sexy actresses today may look the part, but they lack that certain delicate femininity that men in the 50s and early 60s appreciated. She was a “gentleman’s sex symbol”. People like Anna Nicole Smith tried to emulate her, but although Anna had the equipment, she lacked the feminine charm and mystery of Marilyn. Perhaps Marilyn would have had a bit tougher time achieving success in the 70s, as men changed in the 70s, preferring more provocative and “in-your-face” sexual imagery than the subtlety that Marilyn Monroe brought to the screen. Personally, I think men in the 1950s and early 1960s were more gentlemanly than men in the 70s and onwards——they appreciated a woman like Marilyn Monroe. Sigh.

by today’s standards she would be considered fat. Look at all the young starlets, they’re all probably 110 lbs. I am not saying she’s fat (believe me, i wish i were “fat” like her!), i am saying by the standards of most young actresses today, she’s heavy.
