Call the health department.
Contact the universities in the area. Ask for a contact in the psych department and tell ask them if they have any opportunities for you to be a patient for a therapist-in-training.
Hi Shammie. Sorry to hear. Are you male or female?
Look up your county’s Crisis Center most have 24/7 free walk-in counseling !
Group therapy is your best option.
Any 1 on 1 therapy will cost money.
Thank you for all the answers, I am looking into each of them. I am a little worried about doing the therapist-in-training with the university, but I heard that they often do free sessions. I would rather work with the same therapist several times though.
I have the humboldt county department of health and human services pageopen and am exploring. It seems to be be pretty easy to understand, just need to read it all and make some calls.
Thanks escapedone7(and chazmaz) and likeradar.
I am a female, beautifulbobby193, does that matter?
Looking for the crisis center on the webpage, but it may take time…
How do I find out about group therapy, I guess through the health department. I have never done group therapy. I think it scares me a bit, I am not a talker, and I have pretty bad social anxiety. I am willing to try anything so I am going to ask about it…
Thanx Pretty Lilly and Captain Fantasy
Thanks everyone, seriously! I now feel comfortable to get started on my search…
All I have to say is welcome to Humboldt. It’s a great place to live.
We give free therapy here daily, too. Double your money back if not satisfied!
Welcome to Fluther. Stick around for awhile.
