Makiko, Yukako, Midori (green), Yuki, Hanabusa (petals), Aido (indigo temple), Sayumi, Megumi (blessing).

I don’t know why I like them.
the ones with translations, except for Aido and Midori, are ones from animes that I like. xD

I like many of them, I always have, but one I’m particularly partial to is Namiko. Nami = wave; Ko = child.

I like “Maya.” I know a lovely Japanese woman by that name. I have no idea what it means, but I like the woman who wears it.

Setsuko. And I called her Setsuko san, because she used to be my friend long ago. She is a real person with one of the most beautiful hearts that I have ever known. She always had this big smile and her eyes twinkled. I worked with her 30 years ago.

@OneMoreMinute I agree. Setsuko is one of my favorite Japanese female names too. It means “snow child”. It is dear to my heart, because it’s the name of both my mother and the name of one of Japan’s most famous actresses, Setsuko Hara—-

I had a college friend named Miyuki. I think her name means Beautiful Blessing. She and I made quite a contrast physically, since she is 5’-0” tall and weighs 94.5 lbs., while I am a 5’-10”, 145 lbs. Soviet lady.
