Do cats think of their owners as their slaves?

One time my cat (who is a girl so she’s very prim and proper) came and sat in front of me while i was on the couch and started looking from me to the bathroom so i went to the bathroom to see if anything was wrong. when i got in the bathroom she was standing in front of her litter box and started yowling at me (not a regular meow at all!) so i figured she wanted me to clean it, even though there was nothing in it. i told my friend about later that day and she told me about the whole cats thinking they’re rulers of the human race and everything.

My two cats know they are the rulers of the universe.
I have 2 cats and they’re both girls but only the little one feels like she belongs on a throne
Possibly because cats are alot of work and they think they deserve alot more attention than they actually do.
Milo here (from his iPhone); You all know my views on this so I won’t bother repeating myself. Gail is cleaning the refrigerator as we speak.
Some one also told me that it’s because people in Egypt worshiped them, so all of think that they should be worshiped
I should hope so!
To think my lifetime spent adoring and worshiping these beautiful purrballs at their paws was all for nothing!!!
Call me pussy whipped I guess!

My gato knows I’m the boss! Although, she frequently forgets.
@Luna Yeah, but don’t you just adore them anyways though?
I’ve quoted this before, but it’s so apt:
“In ancient times cats were worshipped as Gods. They have never forgotten this. ”
:D
Dogs have owners, cats have staff. :)
Are you sure she wasn’t yowling for a fresh change of water?
Some cats think that the bathroom is the source of all Earth’s water.
All kidding aside, no, I do not think cats consider their caretakers slaves. I would say it’s more of a symbiotic relationship than one of master and slave. My cats give me too much in return for it to be as simple as that.
Hang on, let me ask mine…
He says “no, of course not as long as you do what I want and I am always able to do what I want.”
My cat treats me like a slightly dim witted servant.

Ok, in truth, he gives as much as I do. It is a give and take all the way.
About what your cat did that you described in the details, if this is recent, maybe you should take her to a vet if it keeps up?
I had one who came to me, meowed, then walked over to a very faded pair of my jeans that I had left on the floor (very light jeans and my carpet was dark). Still looking at me, she squatted and urinated just a bit on my jeans, moved out of the way.
I looked down to see what she was trying to tell me and saw a little bit of blood in her urine. I took her to the vet and she had uric crystals. She wound up on a special diet to control the problem.
What you describe sounds like what my cat did.
The meow you describe can also be pain. If it dropped in pitch compared to her normal, often cats will meow in pain or discomfort that way.
Wow, that’s very perceptive. Most people would just be ticked off at the cat. GA for you.
Good for your cat to have such an understanding servant :)
But seriously, for the person posting the question, she may be in pain from some type of problem related to elimination.
Better safe than sorry. Get her to the vet for a thorough checkup. If there is a problem it’s best to catch it early.
@Buttonstc Thankyou. :) I would think that any true “cat person” would have reacted the same. Also, she trusted me enough to do that. That shows that cats are very intelligent… she picked a light colored fabric to urinate on but I would have taken her had she done it on the carpet. I also would have taken her if I had not seen blood… there was obviously a problem she was telling me about.
The thing about behaviour like my cat demonstrated and the OP’s cat demonstrates, often such things are the cat trying to tell us something. I heard of one person whose cat would not use the litterbox because of painful voiding.
Usually if there is that much of a change, especially with eating and litterbox behaviour, it is due to a problem for which the cat should be taken to the vet. Also, a deeper, different pitched meow often says “I’m in pain.”
