Sorry Godfather fans, but nothing tops Goodfellas.
@jeffgoldblumsprivatefacilities Amazingly i’ve yet to see any of the godfather movies in their entirity don’t know why just hasn’t happened.Goodfellas is certainly up there Pesci steals the movie though.
True confessions. I really don’t like gangster movies. because you always know how they will end,
The Depaahhted if that counts
if not… just GA me for how hilarious Marky Mark is in it
Pulp Fiction and Miller’s Crossing come to mind.
I guess I like the later stuff.
Goodfellas.
Brilliant work.
Sopranos sucks
@jonsblond I completely forgot about Miller’s Crossing. Such a great movie! GA!
A huge gap in my filmviewing is the fact that I’ve never seen Goodfellas.
I love the Godfather.
City of God
Miller’s Crossing
Pulp Fiction
Reservoir Dogs
Once upon a time in America.
@lloydbird That is a long long movie good but tiring.
Goodfellas is my number one as well!
More recentally I would say the Denzel movie was pretty awesome. “American Gangster”
The Godfather so thoroughly kicks Goodfellas’ ass. I mean, I really like Goodfellas, but The Godfather is something else.
The Godfather.
I also liked Miller’s Crossing
Donnie Brasco.
Along with pretty much every other film named here.
American Gangster was pretty awesome.
“Bonnie and Clyde”- Faye Dunnaway and Warren Beatty.
…does Boondock Saints count?
Some people think Scarface is the greatest gangster movie ever. I suppose it is if you are counting the number of bullets shot in the movie.
im obsessed with pulp fiction. it is so bad ass.
Pulp Fiction
Reservoir Dogs
The Godfather Trilogy
the original Scarface
Little Caesar
Sin City
honorable mention for The Sopranos, which is really just a TV show.
Pulp Fiction is my favorite.
While The Sting is not an influential gangster movie, it was still a good one and used Scott Joplin’s music. Being a big ragtime jazz fan, that put it right up there.
I enjoyed the first Godfather movie, liked the second, was bored by the third.
Casino
Goodfellas
A Bronx Tale
Donnie Brasco
Scarface
Road to Perdition
The Untouchables
Bonnie & Clyde
L.A Confidential
Goodfellows and Sopranos get my Bobs yer Uncle two thumbs up vote.
@OneMoreMinute Oh good lord Goodfellows, was that the English version where they twatted each other about the head & face with cricket bats.Jolly nasty chaps. This uncle of yours, I believe Bob is his name, sounds like a charming gentleman, invite him round for tea would you, thanks awfully. Toodle pip!!
@ucme Goodfellows was my first introduction to mob 101. I was fascinated with all of the characters, they were drawn with a positive light, and the narrator made it seem like you were really in there.
I’ve watched it many times, and never get bored. I thought it was genius work.
And the smoke doesn’t even bother me at all!
Tea sounds lovely! Though I can’t say I’ve ever had me a hot pot of Toodle Pip before.
Scones or trumpets? Do you lump your tea?
Uncle Bobs says your his lovliest favorite!
Twiddles luv
@OneMoreMinute Hoorah for Uncle Bob,for he’s a jolly good fellow & so say all of us.
@ucme Oh that reminds me of my dear old great Uncle Bobby (god rest his soul, poor laddy) who was one of the first jolly goodfellows. Too jolly for his own good. They said he was a bit nutters and lost his plot. The other not so jolly goodfellows whacked him in in the woods.
For me it’s Scarface….. I watched it for the first time when I was about 6 & it left an imprint!
