Cool things to do in Vancouver?

I am staying in downtown Vancouver. I have no car, but I have feet, and there are buses and taxis, and river bus. I have one day to see stuff—any suggestions? I heard the anthropology museum at UBC is good, and the aquarium, and the science center.

Isn’t there playoff hockey in Vancouver right now?
When I’m there, I like to check out the local stuff rather than the touristy stuff.
If all you have is a day and there isn’t already a plan in place, that’s all you really have time for.

Unless you’ve already been there to the point of ambient saturation, I suggest going to Stanley Park and improvising a pedestrian sojourn from there.
