Please post your best CHEWY brownie recipes that use cocoa powder.

Asked by Zone36 (416points) April 26th, 2010

Here’s the criteria:

Chewy almost like a chewy chips ahoy.
Not too fudgy or dense.
But not light and cakey either.
Also nothing dry.

I’m an edge guy. I like the kind where it’s slightly crisp on the edges, but chewy and moist in the middle.

It HAS to use cocoa powder and NO baking chocolate.

So please post your recipes or links to recipes you like.
Pictures a plus. And your personal description of the brownie itself.

Here’s a nice remix version of the Katharine Hepburn recipe, which I have done myself. Might I say that the brownies are delicious! However, I’m not sure if it would still taste the same with out adding the chocolate Maybe you could still give this one a try. Happy Baking!

Not a recipe, just a tip- as you probably already know try and use the best unsweetened cocoa you can find,.
Next time, I am going out of bounds and try McCormick Gourmet Collection Cocoa Chili Blend.
I got it for $1, and it says it can be used in brownies or chocolate cake?
I have had chocolate covered almonds that had some heat, and they were quite good, surprisingly, so I am going to give it a try.

Are you willing to purchase the recipe? Just kidding.
Interesting, I didn´t know there was a cocoa chili blend. I´ve made hot cocoa with a little cayenne pepper in it, though. It was a little too much for me, but I had fun trying it at least once.
