I go for both style and functionality. Sitting behind a desk and swinging through the trees demands different levels of performance from my thongs! Commando for those special occasions! ;)

Comfort is always first, not showing under my clothes is second, how it looks is third.
Matching falls under looks.

Comfort. I also like a variety of colors. I always imagine someone peeling me out of my jeans and being excited not just by me, but by the packaging of me.

Comfort doesn’t matter. I pick undies according to the cut which flatters me best. Finding bras is a huge pain in the ass because of my size =/ And most of my undies are black.

Underwear is the one part of my wardrobe where I go purely for function over fashion. Comfort in my crotch is of the utmost importance to me.

Most of the time, I wear knit boxers. They’re the most comfortable type of boxers in my opinion and most of the pairs I have are striped (anything with stripes is a bonus for me).

But I also wear short boxer-briefs like these. I like them just as much, but they’re a bit sexier (and my boyfriend agrees).

I love boy shorts because they’re comfortable and sexy. You can wear them in fabrics like lace or satin, but because of the cut they are so damn comfortable. My favorite is mesh with lace trim, especially the ones with vertical stripes on the front like this.

I pick comfort over fashion. But, as @Haleth points, boy shorts give the best of both worlds, so I usually stick with that style. My boyfriend is definitely a fan! He likes thongs even better, so I save those for special occasions.

Comfort by far. I have 9 pair of Hanes that’s made out of microfiber fabric & they’r sooo smooth & comfortable. I have white, beige & black, & bras to match them all.

I have some of everything. Seriously. All different styles, fabrics, colors. I think if I had to pick a kind to wear for the rest of my life I’d pick cheekies… and ones without bands around the waist or leg openings so that you don’t see underwear lines. Plus, cheekies are cute.

@chyna NSFW? Those are cheekies, and they come in a variety of fabrics (cotton, lace, microfiber, etc.) and colors.

i find thongs way more comfortable than panties. they don’t look like they would be, but if you wear one that fits, you don’t feel them at all. I saw an episode of Regis and Kelly and Kelly was saying “us women swallow our underwear.” she was explaining that the thong is way more comfortable, and she’s right, because it’s more comfortable to have a small piece of fabric in your ass than to “swallow” a larger piece.

@jca I guess the theory there is to go ahead and put it there yourself rather than just wait for a wad to creep up on its own.

I agree, thongs are way more comfortable than regular underwear, plus you don’t get the panty line which I find really unpleasant. Especially depending on what you’re wearing. So really I only buy thongs so that narrows down what I look at. And from there I’m not really picky, except I don’t really like g strings. There’s nothing there. I’m afraid I might rip it in two while pulling it out of my underwear drawer. Plus I just don’t think they look as nice as other underwear, because you can’t even see them. Whats the fun in that!

I’m like @Allie but i mainly stick to cotton because it’s comfy. I actually just bought about a hundred bucks worth of those cheekies today! lol. Those aren’t just for me, they’re for hubby to enjoy too haha.
I prefer hiphuggers though.

Boxer shorts, loose, most colours but prefer white, practicality comes first I’m no fashionista ! :-/

@FutureMemory thats true, they are more appealing visually, i agree. but they give you wedgies just like any other underwear, and it’s not worth it to be uncomfortable all day just so when you take off your pants, your SO gets an enjoyable view for 5 seconds before the underwear come off too, lol. you know? if he likes them that much i’ll put them on AFTER i take off the thong. im all about comfort. nothing else competes.

I rarely if ever wear underwear – if I do, it’s boyshorts. Bra shopping invariably leaves me in tears. I have two, and they’re both plain, boring cotton, and even they don’t fit.

For work then I choose knickers that won’t show lines or design through my clothes. All other knickers are picked soley on how they look. Bras I pick the same, ones for work are picked to show the most natural shape to my boobs, not show design or texture through my clothes. All others are picked for their appeal to whoever is undressing me for nekid time. I love underclothes, I like having them paid attention to when I’m wearing them and I like them taken off of me with some fun and finesse.

I encourage my partner to particular boxer briefs because of how they fit him and what parts of his legs they show best. There’s a particular weight of cotton I prefer on him that makes him so cuddly along with looking foxy. I’m fortunate that he indulges me.

Lately, I have only been buying Victoria Secrets low rise thongs. They are cotton, fit well, and have all different kinds of prints and colors. I usually go with blacks, pinks, reds, and other sexy colors.

I pick my underwear on the occasion.

You know how some girls are all about shoes? or some are all about handbags? I’m all about underwear. I love that I can be at work in a horrible naff uniform but underneath I’m feeling great because I’m wearing the prettiest undies. Makes me feel good, you know? I buy cotton, comfortable and lets your skin breathe, and usually underwired because I’m a DD cup so the girls need supporting, but I love either pastels or pure white with lace, anything pretty. For panties I prefer high leg bikini briefs. I also LOVE basques, they hold everything in, give you a great shape, the boning in the sides forces you to sit up straight so improves your posture, and they make me feel special, and even (on a good day) attractive :-)

For me, I purchase underwear based on what it’s for. For everyday use (like at work) they have to be comfortable first. So I buy some that are comfortable but still look nice. I have different variety of them (bikini cut, boy shorts, etc). For “fun” I like getting stuff that’s sexy and looks good (without really worrying about comfort). When it comes to what I think is sexy, it’s usually lace or satin (my favorite two) and a variety of cuts (bikini, boy shorts, thongs, etc). Boy shorts can fit both comfort and sexiness with the right material. :)

It depends on the situation for me. I own all different types and styles of underwear but my favorite are thongs! Nothing feels right for me anymore. If i wear a skirt or a dress I wear regular underwear, just as a safety measure, but any other outfit I go with thongs

I buy purely for comfort. Fortunately what’s comfy for me also looks good and i like those undies. But i will never ever wear undies (bottoms or tops) that are uncomfortable, because, well, it’ll be unbearable!!

I used to go for fashion but got supremely tired of them riding up. I have never liked thongs nor found them in the least bit comforable. I gravitate to boy cuts or none at all on certain occasions and with certain outfits.

I was about to go on a 4 day backpacking trip. I had previously been prone to chaffing and didn’t want to risk 4 days with 60lbs on my back being unable to walk comfortably.
Skeptical, I decided to dish the $25 for a pair of Underarmor boxer briefs. Needless to say, as soon as i got back… I replaced every pair of underwear I owned with Underarmor.

I go for comfort first. I find full briefs the most comfortable. Then if i’m happy how they look on me.
