If you know that you are going to be home all day, do you still get dressed?

I know some people who get dressed as though they are going out even if they aren’t going to leave the house. I also know some who don’t even shower or brush their teeth.
Where do you fall? Does it matter who is at home with you?

I work from home full time. I’ve found that getting dressed as though I’m actually going to the office puts me in the right mindset to actually focus on work. The few times I haven’t bothered getting out of my pajamas, I’ve felt like doing nothing more than sitting down on the couch all day and watching TV. Bad for productivity.
@nekkitness Haha
Yes, usually I still get dressed, shower, brush my teeth.
Yes. I’m more productive around the house if I do.
Usually I do, but today I’m home sick. All I did was change into a nicer pair of jammies.
Depends on my mood really and sometimes the weather. If I’m not going to do anything but it’s sunny out and I don’t want to feel as lazy, I’ll shower, do my hair and makeup and just lounge. However there are days where I just don’t feel like doing anything.
@MrItty Interesting how wardrobe puts people into certain mindsets
Right now I am still in my crazy jammie bottoms and a tank top, hair in a ponytail and about to climb in my hot tub and bail out the leaves from leaving it uncovered and drained the last few days. THEN..I will shower and dress and go out to do some stuff.
If I am home on stormy days I will sometimes just freshen up but hang in my pj’s all day.
No.
I do pay for the habit in the form of my heating bills.
I always bathe!LOL! Clothes are optional.
Nope. I am the pajama queen. As soon as I get home I put my jammies on. If I have no plans for the day, I do not get dressed.
I ALWAYS take a shower, wash my face & brush my teeth. And yes, get dressed. I’ve got to be literally sick in the bed before I stay in my pj’s. I don’t do my hair & make-up if I’m not going anywhere, tho.
For many years, i awoke at 430 am and dressed in a police uniform. in full gear, the uniform weighes 32 pounds, including my underwear.
Now that i am retired, i wear as little as possible to make up for all the weight.
A pair of gym shorts, gym shoes and a Metro Police T-shirt is only worn now.
Not bad…........32 pounds versus 1.2 pounds and worth waiting for.
Lucy….......how many times must i tell you that you cannot go to the mailbox without wearing clothes?
Nope. I lounge around in pajamas all day. Hell, I’ll go to class in pajamas.
I don’t do makeup if I’m not going anywhere.
I do shower, but only to put on clean pajamas.
I usually get dressed because I end up spending at least some of my time outside. I have no privacy fence, so I do not want to embarrass the neighborhood
I DO put on my jammies first thing when I get home in the winter months.
But…I always rip off my bra first regardless of the season.
&(%$(&@@% bras…annoying things! lololol
No way!
However, I usually take a bath and get cleaned up… then I put on clean jammies or lounge clothes. :) I also don’t waste a minute getting into my comfortable clothes the second I walk in the door, either. I love being in my pjs.
I don’t wear clothes when I’m at home by myself.
Like @tinyfaery, I am a jammie queen. I change into my PJs as soon as I get home and would happily stay in them all day if I’m not going out or not having to see people.
No nudists so far, but very clean people lol
I’m a part time nudist, on my own property, summer nights nekkid in the wilderness, make it easy for the mountain lions. lolol
It totally depends on my mood. I have my bummy days where I dont even move from my bed for hours. But Normally I get dressed…in my house clothes. ((Which are just jeans and a tee.))
I’ll never walk around the house without shirt and shorts, as I live with 3 other guys and I’m sure they don’t want to see my mostly-naked body. But when I’m home, I’ll wear some comfortable basketball shorts, rather than pants or normal shorts. I’d never go more than a day without changing clothes.
I can never skip more than a day of showering, even if I won’t deal with any other people for a week. I just feel too…dirty. My hair especially, it gets ridiculously oily. but overall, I just feel dirty.
I manage to forget to brush my teeth far too often. So I can’t ever give myself an excuse saying “Oh well I’m not going anywhere”.
I get dressed. I’d hate to trip over a pair of pants while someone was knocking on my door. my luck I’d fall into the door, face first, knock out a tooth and fall out onto the front porch with my pants only on one leg. “Oh, hello random stranger..heh heh heh. I’ll bet you’re wondering why I only have on one pant leg. Funny story..” Yeah, no thanks.
Yes, unless I’m unwell. It’s important for me to have a bit of a routine, and getting dressed is part of it.
I get dressed anyways, but usually in something I’d never go outside with haha. But just getting dressed and fixing myself up seems to jolt my brain, so that I can still get shit done instead of sitting around on the computer all day or whatever.
@wundayatta Sick with me? I’m naked at home even when I’m not sick. The clothes stay in my closet always. :)
I always shower and dress even if I’m not going out. Maybe it would be different if I lived alone, but I don’t.
HELL NO. why wear jeans when i can wear sweatpants, and maybe even NOT A BRA? what a silly question.
I rarely get dressed and most often no bra. It’s so freeing.
I’m a stay at home mother, but I like to go out to at least one place every day with the kids. I’ll go outside in my pajamas though, only if it’s out back or for a walk around the block.
If I’m going to be home all day, I usually change my shirt at least once. But, I sleep in my underwear, so I do get dressed in lazy clothes every morning lol
No, I’ll shower and tidy myself but not put on any clothes that I’d use for work or to go out in, why dirty them up? I’ve got shorts and a few casual skirts for hanging about the house doing not much more than eating, napping, cleaning and watching movies.
I’m always dressed and clean. I’m not a slob.
Depends on your definition of “dressed.” I always shower, etc.
@Vunessuh Oh, all right. I’ll come over when you’re not sick. But just for you. I wouldn’t do this for anyone else!
