Hanz Zimmer did the soundtrack for Pirates of the Caribbean, and is great! The Matrix Soundtrack was great! The Iron Man movie soundtrack was great. Lord of the Rings… They were all great, energetic orchestra or techno. No words. Can you make a suggestion?

I’m a big fan of Clint Mansell’s soundtracks to “Requiem for a Dream” and “PI.”
The Fountain soundtrack by Clint Mansell
Mean Creek soundtrack by tomandandy
Crash soundtrack by Mark Isham
Three of my all time favorite movie soundtracks.
Dust brothers – Fight Club soundtrack
Vanilla Sky soundtrack (great, but it has lyrics so may not fit your request)
can’t think of any soundtracks really but there are some great remixes…
The Snowman (Christmas special) Dubstep addition this
Last of the Mohicans this
UP (Disney Pixar) here
Blade Runner by Vangelis is well worth a look.
I hope this falls into the category. John Williams, Jurassic Park
I cant fucking wait for tron legacy for exactly this reason :)
Not a movie, but the soundtrack from the original Halo has that kind of a feel to it.
Amelie has an awesome, vibrant semiclassical soundtrack. Great for driving. But in terms of what you’re looking for, you’re not gonna top The Matrix and its sequels.
