Not sure how to word this, but, I'm looking for a song, when the singer sings it, you feel a great deal of emotion (mainly, sadness and/or a release)

Asked by Jude (32204points) April 29th, 2010

Listen to “Great Gig in the Sky” by Floyd. Tons of emotion in this song, but, at 2:45, to me, it’s like a huge release (letting out the pain).

Yes, I know that I sound crazy.

Sick Cycle Carousel, Lifehouse. And it’s not crazy. I know the feeling.

Hurt by Johnny Cash. You can feel the age and wisdom in his voice. And no, that’s not only you, I it happens often to me and a lot of people around me. Not crazy at all.
Also, Hengilás by Jónsi.

@jonsblond A surefire tearjerker.The fact that she’s crying in the video adds to the emotion.Apparently it really got to her,the lyrics that is.Good song brilliantly portrayed.Not that I personally cry at songs you understand…ahem..macho voice, silly nonsense ;¬}

Antony and the JohnsonsAtrocities

A pretty depressing song, but the singer’s voice is absolutely amazing.

Jude's avatar

This one of Sinead’s does it for me, as well.

@jeffgoldblumsprivatefacilities Yes, that one and, of course, “Hope There’s Someone”.

@jeffgoldblumsprivatefacilities He has an amazing voice, sounds contrived but actually genuine.

Wild is the wind by David Bowie does that for me. And just about every U2 song is just the opposite. Bono never lets me come.

I can’t remember the title but the song about a little boy asking for pretty shoes for his mama who is suppose to meet Jesus tonight. Sorry, its late and I’m drawing a blank on the title. Maybe tomorrow I’ll remember.

@Pandora It’s “Christmas Shoes”, and it always makes me bawl.
