metallica. 60s and 70s are easier
80’s – U2
90’s – Radiohead
Today – Coldplay
Queen seem to tick all the boxes.
Not sure about the 80’s but NoDoubt never gets old for me
I’m going to say U2, but surprised that Bruce Sprinsteen is not anyone’s choice. He’s got to be right there with U2.
I’m sure im going to get bashed for this but i don’t like U2 and I hate Bruce Springsteen.
Queen is definitely awesome and cold play is pretty awesome too.
@squirbel No Doubt always was one of those guilty pleasures for me heh ^_^
This is a difficult question, because it seems to me the great bands and musical trends tend to split decades. Think for a moment about how different music was in ‘83 compared to, say ‘88. Or ‘91 vs. 99’. The bands that really define the ‘80s and ‘90s to me are U2 and REM, but they both had their golden era in the last and first halves of each respective decade.
So, having said all that… my controversial choices for acts that kept it going full-steam through those decades are:
80’s Van Halen
90’s Pearl Jam
00’s Hate to say it, but… Coldplay.
Van Halen, Queen, Styx, Journey, I can’t choose lol
starship, journey, skid row, mr big, the list goes on
SYSTEM OF A DOWN!!!!

I’m with you on the greatness of Guns N’ Roses, but again, they’re one of the bands that appeared in the late 80’s then by the mid 90’s—it’s a shame, but—they were kind of finished. So, how would you classify them?
can’t believe no one said Nirvana
That would be because Nirvana isnt any good. Kurt Cobain couldn’t sing to save his life…...
Because they had such a short run in the spotlight before Cobain killed himself.
