An illustrated atlas had more effect on me as a child than any other book. It made me want to travel and I have spent a good part of my life doing exactly that.
It’s not quite nonfiction, but it was based on a true story: Island Of The Blue Dolphins—Scott O’Dell.
I don’t do much reading, but I enjoyed Tuesdays with Morrie.
It’s an easy read and quite inspiring.
Autobiography of Theodore Roosevelt. The Glass Bead Game by Hermann Hesse. The Art of War by Sun Tzu. Musashi’s Book of Seven Rings.
Right now I am reading ” Eat, Pray, Love” by Elizabeth Gilbert. I haven’t finished it yet, but it seems to be an excellent book so far.
@Vunessuh that was my choice, also. Tuesdays with Morrie is my favorite book.
The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch
The books by Michael Pollan (two are The Omnivore’s Dilemma and In Defense of Food); and the writings of Eric Schlosser (Fast Food Nation)
celestine prophecy
