Reasons for a white bump in your mouth?

Asked by BlindingRituals (4points) May 8th, 2010

So for about a month there’s been this white bump near her bottom right (her right) molar that’s about the size of a dull pencil tip.

Doesn’t hurt as far as we know but we can’t touch it due to her gag reflex.

She’s going to se a doctor within the week, but she’s flipping out about oral cancer right now. I just think it’s a very sturdy cold sore but I could be wrong. Any ideas what it is so I can sooth her a tad?

My “guess” is it is a canker sore that should be treatable with OTC treatments. But as with all net forum advice let your Dr. be the one to tell you what to do!! I like this product here…

Is she stressed out and/or run down? I get these bumps when I don’t get enough sleep and/or have been going through a worrying time.

As a kid, I was told this was the result of telling a lie. I didn’t believe it then and still don’t. What you describe could actually be an abscess. Best to go to the dentist or doctor to find out.
