Airport screeners gone wild?

There has been a lot of debate on Fluther over the last few months about the controversial new full-body scanners that may soon be deployed at airports. These project an image of the naked body on a screen, although some argue that the images won’t be that detailed.
Unfortunately, this guy at Miami International Airport thinks otherwise. This TSA screener was arrested for beating up a colleague who made fun of the size of his… carry-on luggage after he went through the machine during a training session.
So, does anyone think these agents won’t be ogling women (or men) when the machines go live for the general public?

For the first 7 minutes it might be interesting. After that it will be a dull, routine job.
Of course they will, butt I don’t care that much…as long as they can’t see my “MOM” tattoo,I’ll be happy ;)
Maybe all the screeners should be forced to take sensitivity training or something. I didn’t realize that the machines were that detailed, and I can see a lot of people being reluctant to use them because of physical issues that they may not want to have scrutinized. Personally, if it were my job, I probably wouldn’t but I’ve already seen more danglies and hoo hoos than I care to. I can’t imagine that it would be erotic in any sense. Anything nice that one did happen to glimpse would be washed away in the sea of general obesity, whining children and irate adult passengers.
On another related thing brought out here, why is it always penis size that men are Sooooooo obsessed about? Now that poor guy not only has issues with his size, he has to know that everyone in the country knows about his…. deficiencies. Poor dope.
Get a clue guys, bigger does not equal better. I personally prefer medium/small to medium. Y’all need to snap out of it or we’ll make a new rule that you all have to just lay them on the table and be measured every time you congregate somewhere. Then you’ll all know and you won’t need to get into so damn many fights. Don’t think we don’t know that that is the bottom line for most of your brawls to begin with. It’s all about who has the biggest. And please, keep that huge monster away from me because that shit hurts.
Maybe it was just cold?
I think that security is pretty important. I certainly wouldn’t mind someone looking at my naked body on a screen. I wish this wasn’t necessary—I wish the world was a better place in that we could trust everyone not to fucks with planes, but history shows otherwise.
I agree that some training should be implemented before shoving everyone’s penis/vagina/whatever into these employees’ faces. Truthfully, there are few things that are more natural than the naked body, but nowadays “private parts” are taboo. I’d say… grow up, take security seriously, and scan away.
It is ridiculous. Of course they will make comments and have thoughts. It is the human thing to do.
@jfos I’m just not convinced that these scanners are what’s needed to detect everyone who would fuck with a plane. There’s some question over whether they would have caught the so-called “underwear bomber.”
They’re already at my airport. And I refuse to take part in them. If you’re going to sexually assault me, at least have a security measure that works. This one clearly doesn’t.
Well, if Im going to be sexually assaulted I’d prefer it to be in the form a body cavity search.
I hope the screen is at least more private than the ones they have now. I have been able to see what is inside other people’s briefcases… I don’t want to be able to see what will be on these screens.
@Supacase Good point! Everyone’s luggage contents certainly can be seen. I’d rather not see some people’s sex toys…
I think it’s pretty funny. It is a good idea for the uptight and straight laced to be taken down a peg. How much do you want to bet that no U.S. Congressman or Senator will be going through those scanners?
@Ron_C I’m not taking that bet…
