Can I get your opinion on Laser Hair Removal?
I am getting laser hair removal and want to know if you prefer a landing strip, bald, a triangle or something else? If you have had it done, do you like it, wish you had not had it done, or wish you had done it differently?

I did it and it was wonderful. I don’t know what a landing strip, bald, or triangle is, but I just had all of my facial hair removed. I didn’t get all the treatments because I was deployed, but my hair didn’t grow back at all for a few months. If I got the full treatment it would have been two years.
Blackberry, sawyergirl’s asking about the shape of hair in her, ahem, private parts.
sawyergirl, start with your bikini line and then decide if you want to continue. Laser hair removal is very effective (the ideal candidate—fair skin with dark hair), but it’s also extremely costly and can be quite painful.
No, I expect you to dye Mr. Bond…. A well turned out landing strip with just enough room to park a jumbo is always nice I find.
@Cruiser so you enjoy going to bed with a 10 year old???
@Cruiser Only if you keep things out of the blades, my dear. ;-)
@sawyergirl Using electric clippers rather than a razor.
Bald +10 days or so.
As @Primobabe points out, the laser can be quite painful. We have a Medi-Spa affiliated with our office, so we get good discounts. One of my coworker’s went for one seesion for her underarms, and didn’t continue… she said it was very painful, and she’s had 2 C-sections!
@hearkat she said it was very painful, and she’s had 2 C-sections! The sensation is similar to having a large rubber band snapped on your skin…over and over again.
The pain is worst when you begin treatments and still have a great deal of hair to remove. Your hair absorbs the laser’s energy, so lots of hair means that you’ll have quite a bit of that unpleasant feeling. As the treatments progress, there’s less hair remaining and the pain diminishes significantly. But, getting started can be quite an experience, especially on a sensitive part of the body.
It is very painful, but many places will prescribe you a numbing cream if you’re interested, in order to help with that. As far as a style, Go with what you’re comfortable with but also remember that fads change and sometimes the laser is permanent (I have places where it has not dared to return and other places that need more maintenance). Kate Moss recently posed nude for some magazine with a healthy b*sh for all to see, for example.
