What is a blog roll?

I am intrigued by all things online marketing and connecting – is that what this is? How to you….um… engage(?) in a blog roll? And while I am at it – anyone know a good blog how to primer?

You participate in a blog roll by writing an interesting blog that people find reliably interesting so that they link to it from their blogs.

And how to blog? Write stuff. Interesting stuff. Regularly. Post it online. Everything else is commentary.
