How do I update Outlook Express on Mac?
My guru updated the OS and I added the patches, but apparently the OE 2.1 is antediluvian. I checked out
www.microsoft.com/mac/downloads.aspx but MS provided updates for antiquated Mac OS (8 and 9) only.
Is this something I can do myself as a tech-moron, or do I need a guru? And how can I find the info

I would consider (if you can bear it) migrating to OS X Mail, the native mail application on OS X. I think it'll give you much better performance than Outlook Express.
It looks like they abandoned Outlook Express for Mac and are pushing Entourage for OS X.
Guru is coming here on Sat. to do just that. He was surprised that he hadn't installed Mac Mail a year ago. Thanks, Andrew...on target, as always.Would Entourage make more sense than OS X Mail? When Leopard comes out in the spring, these issues will have to be revisited, I guess.
Is your Outlook Express in Windows or old, old mac?
If you have outlook express in windows you need to import your data into Outlook and run a program called 'OutLook to Mac' from
http://www.littlemachines.com
If you have it on your old mac you can move you can select your Outlook Express when you select the Mail program in OSX.
HOWEVER
The import option launches the old program. The intel macs do NOT run pre-OSX programs. You would need to migrate the data to a pre-intel mac mail program and then you could import into the intel machine.
Entourage currenlty would not give you any benefit over OSX Mail unless you use a microsoft exchange server.
Thanks, all. I use no MS appls. iMAc is for personal use only and is several years old but has the most-up-to date OS. No dual chips, however. My dial-up (don't laugh-I live in the boonies) tech deled the inbox and now things are running well...I don't know for how long. I used up too much memory, I guess..
Well, I am an idiot..grovel, grovel. I DO have OS X MAIL...the problem was that I let my inbox get overstuffed. Is there a way to prevent that w/o having to add all the individual KB's and MB"S from mail received? How can I tell what max size is?
