Should I get an iphone or blackberry?
I have a blackberry phone and it has done well thus far, however, I am hearing a whole lot about the ability of the iphone and the beauty of the apps.
I have been thinking about buying a new blackberry, but I have started to consider the iphone, but I am not sure about the real pros and cons of both when they are compared to each other.

Not sure who your carrier is, but I love my Droid.
I use it for work all the time and also use it as a ebook reader, music player, light entertainment center, etc.
Plus, it keeps the kids entertained when we are out at a restaurant, which makes for a much quieter dinner.
Wait. For the new iPhone.
Verizon now has the HTC Incredible. You might want to take a look at some recent reviews. Most prefer it to the iPhone. Also, if you buy an iPhone you lock yourself in to a plan with the most reviled telco in the business, AT&T.
I have a Blackberry for work and an iPod touch.
If it were my money, I’d buy an iPhone over a new BB (even with owning the touch). AT&T service where I’m at isn’t a deal breaker.
That said…
A new iPhone is likely to be introduced this summer (they are every year, so far). And there are increasingly solid rumors that Verizon will be getting a CDMA-based iPhone this year as well… but no estimate on ship date, if it’s even true.

(If Verizon does get the iPhone, AT&T is screwed… the iPhone is their only real market differentiator.)
you should get a blackberry, because they work better. & theres more use of it! its woorks perfectly : )
@robmandu Agreed on that, but I don’t see it happening. AT&T should have the iPhone for 5 years and unless Apple pulls some legal trickery, I think the new one will stick around on AT&T for a while.
That being said, I really like the Droid and the Android OS. I think it’s growing at a faster pace than the iPhone, and has a bit more opportunity for growth than the iPhone ecosystem with its fairly open market. If you’re on AT&T, though, go with the iPhone. It’s a better phone at the moment.
@dverhey, yah, I lay odds at 10-to-1 against it right now. That said, contractual terms are always negotiable and Apple has got to be furious over AT&T’s inability to deliver quality service and promised features, like tethering.
As with any Apple rumor, the only thing we know is what we can see and touch. Until then, it’s all vapor.
@robmandu I thought it was dead after the iPad came out with AT&T exclusively, but the Verizon iPhone rumors keep showing up. If Apple is horrified with AT&T’s service, though, they have a very passive-agressive way of going about it.
I use a blackberry and have done so for the last 10 years beginning with the 950. I also tried out the iPhone the first time it came out. It didn’t suit my fingers so I unloaded within a month’s time. Occasionally I would pick-up the newer iPhone models just to see if it would suit my liking but alas. I’m currentlyl using a Blackberry Bold. The only way to find out if iPhone is right for you is to try it out for yourself.
There will never be a CDMA iPhone, it has always been the case that when LTE goes live Verizon will get whatever the iPhone becomes at that point. LTE won’t be market ready till at the earliest the end of this year. At the earliest then, is next sept. All of that aside…
If I had my pick of any phone on the market right now, it would be the Droid Incredible, its like a Nexus One but with an updated touchscreen, much better camera and Sense, so short of a physical keyboard its the best android phone on the market (with its brother EVO).
Theres also a new WebOS phone rummored with a bigger screen and a snapdragon, which sounds like a dream.
I’ve been an iPhone user nearly since day 1 and I’ve never regretted it. I had 2G & now 3GS.
Word is the new iPhone in June is going to be even better.
You’ll need to throw the Droid phone as well as the many HTC phones that use the Android OS into the equation.
Well, thanks for all the input. I actually never even heard of the Droid phones or HTC phones.
I also don’t live in the U.S., I’m in Canada…so, there are no real limitations to types of models based on the network when it comes to iphone vs blackberry.
I was really looking for pros and cons between the two phones…maybe by someone who owned both phones.
I guess there really is no way of finding out what I will like better unless I owned each of these models for a week at a time and made my decision then…that would be GREAT!
Another vote for the Droid, especially the HTC Incredible.
Blackberry is past it’s prime and has nothing new on the horizon that can really compete with Droids and other smartphones.
And iPhone, though it is perhaps the most elegantly designed smartphone, is locked up by the redoubtable Steve Jobs and his OCD, whereas Google is keeping Android open sores.
