Because things are much happier in my imagination…
like plato one said: ” I think, therefore I am”.
Or worse, everything could be a figment of someone elses imagination.
@ Markos—That was Descartes.
Plato offered the cave as an answer to this question.
You don’t. Welcome to postmodernism.
you can’t ever truly know. Best thing you can do is hope your mind isn’t out to get you
If I cannot feel, taste, smell, see, and hear reality, then what of my capabilities of being aware (other than the senses I’ve listed) should I rely on to determine what is real and what isn’t real? According to Descartes, I think, therefore I am. However, I am in either reality or my imagination. Therefore, I feel, therefore I am real.
Depends on how you look at it. If there is an afterlife, then when you die you just “wake up” somewhere else and stop imagining.
That being said, if this IS my imagination, then I’m a serious masochist.
your figment’s name is willy? Mine’s named chewy <looks into mirror while holding hand up and bending index finger in puppet-like gesture>
