If I separate my pets for a week will they start fighting?
We have 2 dogs and 3 cats (a lot, I know.)
While we are on vacation, the dogs will be apart from each other and the cats will stay at the home without the dogs.
Is it likely that when everyone comes home at the end of the week that they will fight?

No, they will be back on their neutral territory, and they will revert to previous behavior.
I don’t think a week will do that much damage, but remember that it may take a little while once the animals are reunited to readjust.
I have three cats; two of them (named Nacho and Vasco) travel with me to my apartment when I’m at school, and the other (Pickle, an older cat) stays at home with my dad. When I bring my two cats home, Pickle gets very upset and sulks for a few days before getting used to the invasion of his territory. Similarly, Nacho and Vasco usually slink around for a little while before realizing where they are.
Unless your dogs and fight normally, I don’t think there will be a problem. My cats are away from home for sometimes a month at a time, and their adjustment period never gets violent.
@ParaParaYukiko thanks, that was really helpful. (and my dog’s name is Pickles!)
It’s unlikely. My dogs are seperated quite often and they always seem quite pleased to see each other when they are reunited.
they will fight no more than their normal antics.
If they don’t fight now, I doubt they’ll start just because of a week’s separation. But I’m no expert in dog-cat relations!
