Why aren't The Police playing any concerts in California?

Asked by lilakess (789points) February 12th, 2007
Does anyone know anything? They are touring North Amercian but skipping CA? That can't be possible. I'm wondering if anyone knows anything, like, they're planning a show in SF or LA, but it hasn't been announced yet... Help. I must see them!

I'm guessing the dates simply haven't been announced. They're rehearsing in Vancouver, BC and will be playing in Seattle, so I'd assume a full blown West Coast tour is in the works.

Police pulling over in California LOS ANGELES, California (AP) -- The Police have added stops in Oakland and Los Angeles to their reunion tour. Promoters on Tuesday announced concerts on June 13 at Oakland's McAffee Coliseum and June 23 at Dodgers Stadium in Los Angeles. The band announced their summer reunion tour at the famous Whisky a Go-Go in West Hollywood last week the day after a performance at the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles, but the tour initially included no California dates. Tickets -- which range in price from $50 to $225 -- will go on sale Monday morning. The group, which recorded hits including "Roxanne" and "Every Breath You Take," broke up two decades ago. Members Sting, Andy Summers and Stewart Copeland have since pursued individual careers. They are hoping to rival mammoth recent outings by the Rolling Stones and U2 and will join a crowded reunion lineup this summer that includes Genesis, Van Halen and the Eagles. The Police have scheduled 21 gigs in the United States and Canada, including stops in Las Vegas, Seattle, New Orleans and New York.
