If you give up on your leaders can you lead yourself...like starting your own society and collecting taxes?

I think I can do a better job than politicians. I think the political system is broken and needs to be replaced. How can I gain freedom to start my own government? Can I just do it and collect taxes from anyone who wants to join and ignore the failed government that is currently in place?

Yes, it’s called a private club. Sorry, but you will still be subject to your jurisdiction’s laws and taxes.
@perspicacious how did the States seperate from England then? Can I get me some of that?
I think at this point in time things have become too “systematic” for someone to just walk in and take over.
From my understanding you need a lot of money and connections to get into powerful positions in your country. And I’m not sure if being president makes you a real leader anymore ya know?
I am thinking from the US perspective. I suppose if you are in a different place it could be done?
@Steve_A my points exactly… I don’t need to take over just have my own little bit and make it grow over time with new members
Yes, but as soon as you do, a stronger force will simply come in and take it all away from you, without any protection from the U.S. military.
@YARNLADY their won’t be a U.S. millitary after the country goes bankrupt…right?
The military is the reason we are going bankrupt. They are the second biggest item in the spending budget. The first is health and welfare (social security and such).
@YARNLADY how much of the U.S. budget is wasted due to corruption, crime and mis-management?
According to CAGW, fraud and mismanagement is spread pretty evenly over all government agencies, and represents billions out of the trillions the government spends, so well under 1%.
@YARNLADY thank you for answering my questions… I’ll stay awhile and see if what comes up…Say would you like a position in my cabinet? Sec. of Education or State…
No thanks, I’m already Queen of Yarnia and that’s about all I can handle for now.
@cochja Sure. Go to Texas and start a revolution.
@cochja Nah. You’ll need militia and a vote for secession.
@perspicacious how about a vote of one for and none against…can’t “I” just leave the union… or do I have to move to Antartica?
@cochja You’ll have to go to Antartica. Good luck.
@perspicacious I’m not ready to live in a Dystopia just yet…unless you can lend me airfare to Antartica?
@cochja you can start your own political party
