what does this website do really
Why don’t you just google-iPhone jailbreak?
because there’s so many out there,I don’t know which one is real, which one keeps your memory instead of deleting it,which one doesn’t put your phone at risk.
Why do you want to jailbreak it anyway? The app. store comes in june.
buddy this website ^^ is a blog that has posts detailing instructions on how to jailbreak your iPhone…key to this is backing up your iPhone first (IAC).
I have Windows XP also on my home computer, and I used www.ziphone.org. You save it to your computer, unzip, and a great screen comes up. You can unlock only (be able to use another carrier), jailbreak only (be able to put 3rd party apps like solitaire, etc. on your iphone) or do both. I only jailbroke and am still with AT&T, and it took one minute and everything (contacts, etc.) was still on the phone from before. It installed App Tapp Installer and from that, I was able to download games, a to-do list, a money program, and a program to change my icons/background. There are also many development tools, unix tools, etc. Zibri also installs a flaming Z on the phone which is just a link to his blog. You can get rid of that by pressing down on the icon until it wiggles and then pressing the little x. Anyway, now the warnings. Back up your phone first, just in case. I don’t think Ziphone will do anything other than make you restore if it doesn’t work, but I won’t guarantee that just because it worked great for me, it would work for anyone. It WILL void your apple warranty (but I do believe there are workarounds), and (as I would with any 3rd party programs – whether for iPhone, PocketPC, Palm or anything), it is totally at your OWN risk that you download and install anything. Many programs on the installer are awesome, but most are in beta. They may not be finished, and there are bugs. The only problem I ran into is that some great programs didn’t make the jump from 1.1.1/1.1.2 over to 1.1.3/1.1.4 very well and the developers are either working on it or waiting to see what they can use with the SDK – my summerboard locked up trying to use a theme and I had to restore and restart – but for me it was painless, just the time I had to do. I would suggest that you read any faq’s, and check out www.modmyifone.com for readers opinions on all the types of jailbreaking – you have to search through a bit, but a search on google should bring up many sites and I do believe modmyifone has links that are good. Again, proceed carefully, but I hope you have fun.
exactly, app store,I’d rather not pay since I paid a buttload for the phone and service
to fluthermother, thanks a whole lot,I went to ziphone.org and it was a blog, but when I click download ziphone it just takes me I the same page, luke reloading a page.I was at a different site and got the 1.1.4 firmware but when I click it it just opens my iTunes,I don’t know what to do from there,I’m thinking about just unlocking for now so I can travel the world, but I need to find out how,can you send me the exact link that let’s you download the program you were talking about.also I stumbled upon a site called iphonegsek.com,what’s your opinion on that site?
but I really need to unlock it since I’m going to be traveling the world
What in the hell does that traveling the world have to do with third party apps? Did you just want to tell us you were going to travel the world? Congratulations! Don’t forget all of your shots, and keep a tight grip on that passport!
Was it the file named ZiPhoneVin-2.6b.exe that you downloaded? I just went to the site and downloaded that file to make sure as I used v. 2.5 and things may have changed. It saved and I clicked to run – it asked to unzip and I did (with a warning about some framework thing which I apparently have). When it unzipped, it popped up the same screen I used. First set your itunes to NOT auto-open when you connect and NOT autosync and then close out itunes. My itunes did come up at one point and it had a screen saying my phone was in recovery mode, but after the jailbreak, it went away. I also didn’t hook up my iphone until the screen came up. Try those to see, and ziphone gives you a choice of jailbreak, unlock or both (I have the screen up now).
well after watching that Sdk video I’ll not waste my time jailbreaking or risking it,but I would still like to find a way to unlock my phone so I cab use different sim card and a better way to convert my DVDs to movies than DVD shrink and handbrake, like I tried doing a movie and DVD shrink wouldnt let me copy,so I need something better than that.
He wants to unlock his iPhone, activate it, and jailbreak it. Go to ziphone.org and figure out how to download that application!
That’s your answer. I have a 1.1.4 jailbroken iPhone that is using T-Mobile right now. So I have a testimony of the goodness of ZiPhone!
yea but when I click download the ziphone it just takes me to the same page, like reloading the page practically, can anyone send me the link or download forumn for the application?
so from there I can download the program?I just got firefox so it shouldn’t be the browser
Hi Afghanmoose, the link from @theloveprophet also works (just like ziphone.org did originally). Do you think that your security program is blocking it for some reason? Maybe you can check that too. Good luck. Also, our earlier conversations indicated that you were only looking to unlock. I have been checking and, unless I missed something, if you unlock you also have to jailbreak (but you can just jailbreak without unlocking your phone). Although, I think you said that you were looking to just be able to use your phone overseas. AT&T does have a plan for people traveling – check that out and see if it handles what you need. If you think that you would be better off unlocking because you would save more purchasing a local sim card from wherever you are going, then I hope we can fix this glitch with you not be able to see the ziphone download screen soon. I’ll keep trying to figure it out. Let me know if you get it before I do.
your great flutter mother,I’m also going to check and see if at&t can unlock it for me as well at a store
