What can you cook with a waffle iron (besides waffles)?

I recently saw a recipe in Southwest Airlines magazine for making chocolate chip cookies in the waffle iron – brilliant! I tried it and the recipe was pretty good. The cookies taste like chocolate chip cookies, but because of the waffle shape, they are crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. Also, they were a hit when I served them because of their cool and unusual shape. When I mentioned this recipe idea to someone, she said that you can actually make a bunch of things in the waffle iron – she makes “spaghetti waffles” with day-old cold spaghetti mixed with savory batter and herbs and baked into a waffle-patty. Anyone else have ideas, and specific recipes to share? Thanks!

If I remember correctly, you can cook grilled cheese sandwiches in a waffle maker.
homemade icecream cones. you can do it with the right kind of iron
pour cornbread mix into it. You will never make cornbread the other way again.
Paninis. They come out great.
@jaytkay isnt there a movie about that? do you know the name?
Mix oatmeal with water and cook, then pour into the waffle iron. You get oatmeal crispies. Sprinkle with powdered sugar. Very good.
@perspicacious now that sounds delish. I can’t wait to try some of these ideas with the grands.
Grill a hamburger. Make up your favorite hamburger recipe, spray with non-stick coating, put the hamburger on the iron, close lightly and cook. Makes great little crannies to hold the condiments.
Quesadillas
Spray with cooking spray. Place one flour tortilla on the iron. Fill with cheese, onions, cooked chicken, tomatos and peppers. Cover with a second tortilla. Close loosely and grill till the tortillas are golden brown and the cheese is melted.
Hash Browns
Grate Yukon Gold potatoes on to a paper towel and squeeze out as much of the water as you can. Spray iron with Olive Oil Spray, put the potatoes on the iron and sprinkle with Sea Salt before closing the lid. Cook until the potatoes are golden brown. You may have to experiment with the temp setting to get the potatoes done inside before they burn on the outside.
