I was sick for two months back in Feb/March and now I’m sick again with Strep. Crap, it’s been quite a year, thus far. I’m usually a healthy girl. Last year, I didn’t get sick once. What’s going on with me?

Maybe you need to build your immune system. Take some vitamins and try to eat more fruits and veggies.
Stress can be a big factor in getting sick. You may not have been 100% healed from being sick in Feb/March either.
I don’t tend to get sick now. But when I do, it is usually in a big way.
I hope you feel better soon!
Stop smoking. Or stop being stressed lol.
How have you been sleeping? What is your stress level? Are you anxious about something in particular? Do you feel depressed? Pressure at work? New or different financial problems?
You may have a compromised immune system.
An immune system can be compromised by stress or by other underlying illness.
When was your last physical?
Or you are in a different environment where you are exposed to more infections, say a new career teaching children?
Have you had a physical lately? you should have one once a year. this includes bloodwork that will pinpoint a weak immune system for you. we could sit and guess all day and night long, but a physical will give you correct answers.
@dpworkin stress is high. Anxious? Yes. Depressed? I think so. Family issues? Yes.
The rest is okay. I’m chalking it up to stress/depression.
@john65pennington I’ve been through the mill with tests. I did all of that a few months ago.
You need to enhance your immunity by getting more sleep, using relaxation techniques to diminish the effects of stress, treating the depression, and perhaps getting some more exercise.
Stress and check your Selenium intake many foods we eat are devoid of the once plentiful mineral our bodies need for a healthy immune system.
Are you around smoke? Seriously that is a huge factor when I get sick often.
Also you can start taking probiotics. They are great for building the immune system.
You might also look to see if you have some hidden mold in the room you sleep in.
Oh and change your toothbrush.
Repeated strep throat may be due to big crypts in the tonsils that trap organisms and is often difficult to treat.
Taking vitamins will do nothing except fortify your urine.
Watch a season of House. Then you can diagnose yourself far better than a bunch of people on the internet responding to three sentences. People get sick. If God didn’t want us to battle lame illness he wouldn’t have invented bacteria or viruses. Blame him. Just, when you’re done, be sure to ask forgiveness for blaming him.
@jjmah Have you had your blood tested for vitamin deficiencies?
I agree with RPL, probiotics can really help your immune system, but they can also get pretty expensive.
Did you ever get checked for Lupus?
@Simone_De_Beauvoir No, I haven’t.
I have a doctor’s appointment today, I’ll mention that to him.
@jjmah Definitely and I’m glad you’re seeing a doctor again – maybe it’d be good to see another doctor for a second opinion as well.
i discovered echinacea several years ago and whenever i get the sniffles or any sign of illness i take 2 pills 3 times a day for 1 day and feel all better the next morning. chinese have been using homeopathy for thousands of years and still do.
@dealrrr Homeopathy was developed not by the Chinese but by Samuel Hahnemann starting in 1790 in the United States. Also, it’s been shown mutiple times over that homeopathy is total an absolute bunk and has no clinical efficacy whatsoever. References available on request.
Rarebear sorry i assumed homeopathy meant natural remedies like herbs and such. my badd. you know what i mean.
Chinese didn’t invent that either. Apes use herbs.
