Is there something that I can actually do to help with this Gulf Oil disaster?

Besides pulling a superman and simply diving down there to turn the pipe into a knot….not much lol.

Unless you are in the area I am not sure what you can do other than to contact the local coastal efforts and see if there are supplies you can do collection drives in your area to send down. It looks like they are planning to be out there for months.

This Friday, my partner and I are joining a pretty big protest against certain BP gas stations in the city where will dress up as sea creatures and direct people away from these stations so that they use others and don’t give this company any more of their money. I understand it’s a small action.

@Simone_De_Beauvoir , most gas stations are franchise operations. The owners don’t make any money selling gasoline. They make their money selling cigarettes and slurpees. BP won’t care, but these small-potatoes operators will.

@IchtheosaurusRex This is in the middle of NYC, not somewhere on the suburbs and while I do think you’re right to a degree, this public outcry still needs to happen.

@Simone_De_Beauvoir , I don’t disagree with you. What I’d really like to do is take every Republican asshole who believes in “Drill, Baby, Drill” down to the Gulf, give him a bale of straw like those rednecks in that idiotic video, and tell them, “Clean, Baby, Clean.”

@IchtheosaurusRex Ha! I think I just found what to put on the second sign we’ll be carrying today. Mine will say “My 4 Year Old Knows What BP Doesn’t: Clean Up Your Own Mess!” and my husband was looking for a sign and he can put ‘Fuck “Drill, Baby, Drill” and Do “Clean, Baby, Clean” thanks!
