What should I add to my running playlist?
All right, I know this question has been asked before, but I think since the answers change with time, it’s okay if I ask it again? (But, lovely mods, feel free to correct me.)
I am heading out on my first double-digit mile run today. (There, I said it, so I can’t back out!) I expect this will take me close to two hours, and my running playlist is just a little too short. Any suggestions of things to add? Right now I have a bizarro mix of that includes the poppiest of pop music (Madonna, Rihanna, Lady Gaga) to country (Brooks & Dunn) to standard white girl music (Guster, TV on the Radio). So I’m open to pretty much anything.

Red Flags and Long Nights – by She Wants Revenge… Alternative Rock I hope you like!
Dire Straits (anything Mark Knopfler)
The Beach Boys!
Bonnie Raitt
Delbert McClinton
Van Morrison
El Trio Los Panchos (The early ones – 1947–1965)
Abyssinian Baptist Choir
The Run Lola Run soundtrack is pretty good and would make a decent running tempo.
“Living on a Prayer” Bon Jovi or “Tik Tok” by Ke$ha :D
Eye of the Tiger and The Final Countdown
With this while running gives you a EPIC feeling~~~
Well, the title fits, and it’s a great song:
Julian Plenti – Only If You Run
Bruce Springsteen Born to Run and Thunder Road (actually anything fast by Bruce)
Bolero by Ravel
Light My Fire The Doors
No Woman No Cry Bob Marley
Hallelujah Jeff Buckley (but only as the last song)
What you want is angry music which will keep your adrenaline pumping. Anything by Crass, Oi Polloi, Black Flag, Melvins, Dropkick Murphys, Dead Kennedys, or Exploited should work.
You left out the Ramones, the Butthole Surfers, the Sex Pistols, and the Mighty Mighty Boss-Tones.
Run by Gnarls Barkley. Pretty good tempo, actually, for straightaways.
Slayer. The first 5 albums with Christ Illusion and World Painted Blood. Sodom’s Agent Orange is also another good choice. Fast, angry, brutal and Teutonic.
