Will the DCR-DVD108 camcorder charge via USB?

A friend has an old Sony DCR-DVD108 camcorder that will not power on. She does not have the charger that came with it, but says that it will charge over a mini-USB cable. This doesn’t seem to be the case and I just would like someone to verify it. Will the DCR-DVD108 camcorder charge via USB?

It can but you do HAVE to have a U.S.B cord. You can always buy one on E-bay for like $3, but that is the only way to charge it, and yes you can charge a camcorder from a computer, mine does.
