Right hand to both questions.Unusual because everyone I know wears their watch on the opposite hand to which they write.

What will a list of right hand/left hand watch wearers give you?

Write: Right.

I’m with @ucme I wear my watch on my right hand and I am right handed, it can prove difficult if I am writing heaps, but most of the time I am typing so it doesn’t matter too much!

I’m a lefty, and I quit wearing a “wrist-watch” when I started using a cell phone that keeps “atomic” time.

The watch is on the left wrist and I write with my right hand. The whole ambidextrous thing never worked for me.

Non-dominant hand. The watch is less apt to get scratched or interfere with normal activities.

LeftI really should just tape a clock to my glasses as I scratch my watches up.

I no longer wear a wrist watch, but in the days when I used to, I followed the hint someone gave me and I’ll pass it on.

I would turn the watch so that the face of it was on my inner arm rather than the usual way it’s worn. In other words, the watch face itself is on the inner part of the wrist where they usually take your pulse.

I never had another cracked or scratched watch face again. Plus, it’s also a little easier to sneak a surreptitious glance at the time if you’re in a boring meeting or something and don’t want to be obvious.

It only feels a little unfamiliar for the first day or so but, once I got used to it, I never went back to the old way.

Occasionally an observant person would notice and ask me about it. But once I explained, it usually made sense to them as well.

@zenele

How’s that for enlightment ?

Watch on the left. The idea is that, when you had old mechanical watches that needed to be “recharged” (no batteries at the time) the little piece that you had to turn was on the right. So wearing it on the left hand made it easier to do so. Now days it doesn’t really matter anymore. Whatever feels comfortable for you.

I do not wear a watch or any kind of timing device. I write with my right hand.

@Buttonstc – ah, makes so much sense. I, on the other hand, don’t wear watches and get by through looking at other people’s watches. Especially the nice big fat Rolexes with very clear hands – I can tell the time just by glancing at their wrists.

@lifeflame

I have also forsaken wristwatches altogether. The first time I got a cellphone, I realized the redundancy since my phone is always with me 24/7 so I gladly gave up watches.

BTW. nice SN.
