What Does Being Mentally Centered Mean?
I’ve read that yoga makes you mentally centered. And if that statement is not enough to confuse me, it also “teaches you how to breathe” and I don’t know what That means either. I guess I’m out of touch.

Being mentally centered can mean many things: Being confident, not insane, able to handle the daily stresses of life etc. When running or working out, some people do not know how to breathe properly, for example when lifting weights, you exhale as you push the weight up.
@Blackberry So what would happen if you INHALED when lifting weights? Would it really affect the results?
With benchpressing I meant. I do not know the exact dangers of inhaling while pushing up though.
@Blackberry – I do. It involves wet mops and wet shorts.
Nothing. It’s a made up term they throw around. Loosely translated it means relax and empty your mind, detach from everything but your body. <Oooommmm>
Mentally centered is supposed to mean having clear perspective and vision while remaining healthfully detached.
And the “teaching you how to breathe” is about making you aware of your breath as a means of keeping you in the very moment of now.
