There was a song on Vampire Weekend’s first album called “Bryn.” My wife is Bryn, and it’s not a particularly common name. So we listened to it until we got tired of it and I haven’t heard it since.
Wasn’t the foreign minister of Great Britain Jack Straw? I’m not positive, but I’m pretty sure he wasn’t from Wichita. And he didn’t strike me as someone to share women and wine with.
John Jacob Jingleheimer Scmidtt.
it just so happens that his name is my name too
@Mamradpivo He was indeed, & yes you are right, he’d probably be more at home sipping tea & playing croquet with his public school chums.Hoorah.
@Blondesjon I have no idea who that is but sure sounds like a fungi, oops not mushroom for error.

How’d you like to think “Cougar” out the other side of your face? (This is an expression that my mom used to say, and for years I didn’t get it, being a very literal minded person)
Off topic, a little. I went to school with a girl named Sandy Brown. She was a beautiful black girl, and was very popular.
Then the commercial for a television began airing.
The commercial had that little girl from Annie describing the colors in the picture:
“My hair is red, my dress is green, and my dog is sandy brown.”
Every time anyone saw Sandy for months after that, they would bark.
Life is unfair.
I know at least three people named Sandy Brown.
@janbb I know at least three folks that answer to Charlie Brown and not a single one of them is a balloon toting, make-up faced, circus comedian.
Do you know any big bad Leroy Browns?
I am, unfortunately, not acquainted with the most ferocious fella in the entire Burg.
@Blondesjon: You don’t live on the South side of Chicago? My mistake.
I do know some Junkyard Dawgs, however.
It’s not a titular reference but I am friendly with King Kong.
