from iPhone
when I’m using safari or maps, sometimes the screen will just randomly go black for about 2 or 3 seconds then take me back to the home screen without touching any buttons. This is very annoying.

it happens to me to- even after I upgraded to 1.1.4!
yea someone asked this question before and I think they said it was an over load.
if I take it to the apple store do u think they will do anything for it
maybe but I think alot of people have this problem so I think it may be a common thing.
Did you jailbreak it? If you did the Apple store will tell you to go away.
They might help.. But it sounds like a software problem and they can’t really do anything about buggy software. And you would have to recreate the problem for them.
Your best bet is to submit a bug report at Apple iPhone Feedback and hope they get around to fixing it in the next update.
This is just Safari crashing-either some system overload or javascript it fails to process; a great exapmple that should work on iPhones is here in Fluther: enter a response, submit, then go back and edit it; if you try to edit / add too much text then safari crashes. It’s some sort of buffer under/overrun error from my understanding of it, not a defective phone.
yeah, mine does that too sometimes. Its annoying.
It happens to me all the time you are not alone
I asked this question last week, and people told me that it might be happening because the cache is full. Somebody also told me to delete the history and cache, and to turn it off every once in a while. After I tried those things, my problem of the screen blacking out went away.
it happens with mine, however I asked someone at apple about it and they said to try to restore it, and that did help.
Happens to me all the time, since I’m one of those people who can never stay off the Internet. It’s most annoying when it crashes when you are trying to sign up for, or register for something. But from what it seems it is a common this.
