What's Your Opinion of Alvin Greene?
Alvin Greene won the Democratic primary in South Carolina and now politicians are trying to find a way to disqualify him. He appears to have won “fair and square.” Do you think the the party to try to dump him?

—An unemployed guy walks in with a personal check for $10,000 to file his candidacy
—He had no advertising, attended no events, made no speeches, didn’t knock on any doors.
—He was kicked out of the Air Force AND the Army
—He has been indicted on a felony pornography charge
—South Carolina has open primaries – people do not register by party, so crossover voting for the opposing party’s weakest candidate is easy
A real Cinderella story, eh?
<sniff, sniff> Smells fishy to me.
@jaytkay You forgot – Had no money to pay for a lawyer when indicted and so had to ask for a public defender, and yet came up with ten grand to register.
He set SC’s blackdar off.
He seems like he has a script that doesn’t quite meet all his needs.
I have heard this story on NPR and there is no doubt in my mind that something is seriously amiss here. It is a very interesting story for all the reasons @jaytkay mentioned plus @syz ‘s addition. NPR actually played tape of an interview with Mr. Greene and – no offense intended here – dude does not come across as very “senatorial.” I have a very difficult time believing he won “fair and square” and I applaud the state Democratic party for commencing and investigation.
