Does anyone buy games from Steam at full price?

Asked by Lightlyseared (34921points) June 14th, 2010

It seems to me that Steam (Valve’s online game distribution service) is constantly having sales and special offers. So why would you pay full price when you can wait a little while and pick up the same thing for half the price?

Only the cheap independent games. My platform of choice however is Stardock’s Impulse.

Because many of them are so cheap anyway it doesn’t really make too much of a difference. Sure, Team Fortress 2 is on sale this weekend for 10$, but 20$ for a game of that caliber (or 30$ as part of the Orange Box) seems more than reasonable to me. I don’t really wait for the sales just because the games are reasonably priced anyway.

I never have, but I have only bought one game from Steam and that was the Orange Box when it was on sale for $10.

Waiting for things to get cheaper isn’t exactly unique to Steam, games go on sale at retail after a certain point. I get games at full price if I’m eager to see a new release otherwise I wait, that goes for Steam or anything else. . .

XBL arcade and steam are the future of gaming. I use both, and yes i have made a few purchases at full price.
