Sometimes we can get so bogged down in negativity. It can help to reflect on the things that make us happy. What made you happy?
I went to a gay pride parade this weekend, drank wine in the streets, had an awesome dinner, and saw my best friend after a long time apart. I also finally got the t-shirt I ordered that says “allow me to explain through interpretive dance” and wore it today. I saw a certain somebody; when we shared a cigarette he leaned in dangerously close. Also, I’m finally not scared of driving.

Snaps to you, @Haleth!
Last night, we came home from picking my hubby up at work. As we’re going into the house, my little boy says “A blue car!” – pointing at the blue car passing our house. It’s the first time he’s ever called anything by a color. It was pretty killer.
I had a discussion about art techniques with a 6 year old at an art fair.He made me smile:)
When the kids came home from school, happy days!
I taught little 7 year olds how to play rounders and one of them hugged me around the waist and said thank you!
:)
also I made “him” all flustered ;)
I just booked a weekend trip to Catalina Island for my wife’s b-day.
Last week i went to visit my ex-girlfriend who i had not seen for about two months.
She asked her daughter (4 years) what song she had sang that morning when they were driving home on the bicycle.
On her own made melody and with her own words she had sung:
“I have not seen rebbel a long time,
let’s go to his house,
then i can see him again,
cos i find rebbel sweet.
Happy rebbel!
Actually, today…
Paid off my tax debt! Weeeeeeeeeee
Last bit of baggage from a divorce of three years ago. :-)
I was driven to a fantastic restaurant by a new friend to meet six other ladies from the neighborhood. They were all very nice and that twelve dollar breakfast was fantastic. Then she took us to the Farmer’s Market which was spotless. They only had home grown vegetables. I got Vidalia onions and cucumbers. Then we went to the club and I met a dozen more neighbors and we played games.
While we played, a man kept bringing free ice tea and popcorn to each table.
You couldn’t ask for a nicer group of women.
Just about every time I ask someone, “What’s the best thing that’s happened to you all day?”, particularly if it is a disengaged service rep. Sometimes, it is a sarcastic response like, “I woke up today” or “I’m off work in an hour.” Usually though, it breaks their work focus and puts them in a better mood…and they continue to smile after answering.
I love love love love to bake, especially when I’m stressed out of my mind. For two weeks, I was house-sitting for a friend, and for two days, I turned her kitchen into a bakery. I had a friend over, who cooked me delicious foods (nomnom) and I made apple crumble pie, blueberry pie, snickerdoodles, Nutella brownies, and attempted strawberry shortbread cookies. (They kinda burned because I didn’t read the temperature on the directions correctly D: sad day.)
Anyway, we watched a crappy movie and played card games. Fun times with a fun friend made me a happy girl!
I was able to find 2 people I care about decent jobs with companies I do business with
This beauitful weather I am having has been making me so happy. And I am going through a hard time and I just love all my friends and family for always being there for me. :))) and going to that wine fest and all that sounds like a lot of fun!!!
Having five to six hundred people read stories I have written in one day.
@Cruiser Yeah. It’s pretty cool. Very affirming. People have been telling me I’m a good writer for years, but I never believed them. Now I think they could be right.
My boyfriend made me feel very loved yesterday. I have been a bit poorly over the past couple of days and feeling sorry for myself but he cheered me up with his compliments and humour.
@ChazMaz umm…we must have gotten our divorces about the same time! Glad that is behind me and that makes me happy today!
The high temperatures rising from 60 to 80 F this week.
In German we call 60 F in June Schafskälte = a sheep’s chill cold snap.
@mattbrowne SOLD! You can have my 95 with eleventy-billion percent humidity.
@Seek_Kolinahr – I’ll take it for a couple of days ;-)
You know, sometimes when we came back from the US in summer the whole of Germany felt like a giant natural outdoor air conditioning system. We are traveling to Arizona on August 17. But I am told it’s very dry over there…
So I hear. I’ve never been that far West myself. Honestly, dry heat is so much better than humid heat. Bonaire was wonderful. I could live with 90 degree dry heat every day. No problem.
I lived in Kansas in 1988 and 1989 and I began to understand why AC makes a lot of sense. In Italy, Greece and Spain even Egypt which I had already traveled before, it does get hot too, but there isn’t a lot of humidity. At least nothing compared to Kansas.
I have spent the day in the glorious sunshine that England is having right now with my favourite person. and I had a cider ice lolly!
It rained hard. I loved that; it watered the veggies and the grass. Then it cooled off !! What a great bonus!
I found Sadie! She’s my avatar!
My lovely dogs have just been groomed, vaccinated and claws cut. They are all ready for our holidays next week now. We will be spending time with my daughter and her SO.
So very much looking forward to this. She can’t wait to see the dogs again!!
