My iPhone broke recently, I dropped it & the sleep/wake button is stuck in the phone. This has caused serious problems like not being able to turn the phone back on after I turn it off and in order to keep my phone from slipping into an endless restarting loop, I had to turn off the auto sleep feature. This creates a problem, my screen in constantly on & lit up not to mention I cant use the sleep feature to lock and password protect my phone. So my battery does not last very long and I’m looking for ways to keep it going. I’m going on a school trip to new york & were going to be walking around in museums all day for 3 days. Now I can charge it at night but, should I even bring it during the day? How can I really make the battery last with the screen on? I just hope I don’t get lost & don’t have a phone to call my group

Have you tried taking your iPhone to the Apple Store to see if you could get another one?
yea I can for $250….I’m still thinking about it. Plus I need to save up if I do decide to get a new one.
You could probably turn the brightness all the way down and autobrightness off. Also putting the phone in airplane mode should save battery power since the phone won’t have to stay connected to anything.
Do u think if I bring my charger with me that I could ask someone at a museum to charge it for me while we walk around?
I wouldn’t ask someone I didn’t know to charge my iPhone for me because they might try to steal it, even if it’s broken.
u really think they’d steal it? I mean they check cameras and coats.
I don’t know, iPhones are expensive and a lot of people want one. But it’s your call.
Is it a First generation or 3G? There are a lot of tutorials on how to open the casing to be found online now.
DIY here:

If you rather have it done somewhere:

For all the companies that focus on screen repair, I’d simply call them and ask if they’re willing to just open the casing for you to push/pry the button out for you.
Hope this helps
