Ipod Touch not syncing smartlists?

Asked by tranquilsea (17775points) June 17th, 2010

I’ve had quite a few problems with my playlists ever since upgrading to the iPod touch. The smart lists don’t update once the list has exhausted all the songs. Instead it keeps playing the same list of songs over and over again even though I’ve set the parameters of the list to not play the songs more than once in a one day period. And now I have three smart playlists that are actually quite dumb. Even though I have songs listed in iTunes for those lists when I update my iPod the playlist is empty.

Does anyone know why this is happening and, more importantly, how I can fix it? I’ve got a nine hour drive coming up and I really want those playlists working.

There is a new iteration of iTunes that came out today. Perhaps that would be worth a try.

I tried it and it didn’t work thanks though. I’ve had a message posted on the Apple forum for 3 days about this problem and I’ve not had any responses. I’ll try re-creating the lists and see if that helps.

Sorry, I wish I knew more. I hate iTunes.

ITunes has worked fairly well for me except for this recent problem.

I successfully created a new list for one of my smart lists but the other two still aren’t working. Arg.

@dpworkin What software do you use?

Media Monkey. I still have iTunes installed for certain purposes, but I find that it has gotten way too big and intrusive.

Do you have the freeware version or the paid one?

I used the freeware one, and then paid up for lifetime Gold after I decided I liked it.

Is it only good on Windows? I have a Macbook Pro.

I don’t know.

I think I got my answer from their wiki. It’s for a Windows platform :-(
