How to drain a pool?

My family is draining our in-ground pool. We have used a pump, but now the water is not deep enough for the pump. There are about 4 inches left on the bottom that need to be drained. The pool is eight feet below ground level where the water is, so a siphon will not work. Is there a way to drain it without buying a new pump?
