I painted a fence this weekend and have since washed my hair 4 times. The paint will not come out!!! I have tried to comb it out, it’s not working. It’s white paint and my hair is brownish/red… it looks so stupid.
What can I do?

what base is the paint?
because theres different ways for different based paint
im guessing water based?
idk… it was an outdoor fence so it was paint that is appropriate for that (i’m assuming!)
if it is water based
you should get the part of your hair that has the paint in it alone.
then put your regular shampoo on it, except leave that in for about ten minutes.
then comb it out.
A natual way to remove any paint no matter the base, is olive oil or mayonaise. A little goes a long way. Apply working it in then shampoo as you would normally. This has worked for me.
You might have to cut it out.
i dont think you will have to cut it out.
worst comes to worst you just go to a salon.
I got BRIGHT blue paint in my hair the other day. It just slid out of my hair after washing it, so hopefully it will do the same for you eventually!
Having recently done this same thing—white paint too- I will say that you will just have to let it grow out.Just kidding:)
If it is water-based-which mine was,I used water which didn’t help much after it had dried,so I tried rubbing alcohol and that did the trick. If it is oil-based,I would use a solvent made to thin oil-based paints.ask at the hardware store…I am sure they will figure out what you want to do once they see you ;)
Good luck!
olive oil. rub and scrap the paint with your nails. it will come out.
don’t put solvent on your head for god sake!!!!!!!!!
Dawn dish soap will get just about anything out of your hair. I also second (third?) the oil. Though, you might need the Dawn to get the oil out afterwards.
I’ve never gotten pain in my hair, but since they are using Dawn on the poor animals in the Gulf, it must be do something right.
Look on the paint can. It should say what base the paint is.
Mineral Spirits on a cloth (don’t pour directly onto your head)
And no, this isn’t dangerous, just use sparingly and wash your hair right afterward.
Acetone has always worked for me.
