"I can't get you outta my head"; had a song stuck in your head, recently?

Asked by Jude (32207points) June 23rd, 2010

John Mayer (“No Such Thing”), get out of my head!!

These lyrics, in particular:

I am invincible
I am invincible
I am invincible
As long as I’m alive…

Sometimes, when he sings, it looks as though he’s making a “poop face”.

Oh yes and I’m sad to say it was ‘hoes, take off your clothes..hoes, get naked’ – it’s like my nightmare of a song and I couldn’t get it out of my head for days.

Jude's avatar

@Simone_De_Beauvoir Wow. Yeah, that would be awful..

Oh gosh yah, I almost ALWAYS have a song stuck in my noodle, and it’s always the same dang part overandoverandoverandover… this week it has been Fully Alive by Flyleaf

“Fully alive
More than most
Ready to smile and love life
Fully alive and she knows
How to believe in futures ”

Every song I listen to, particularly the ones that remind me of my lovers.
@HeatherGrace Thanks, now you got that stuck in my head!

HGl3ee's avatar

@Draconess25 : Hehe I’m terribly sorry, at least it’s not the Hokey-Pokey O.O

For the last couple of days I’ve had the Monkees “Daydream Believer” stuck in my head, because something I read on Fluther reminded me of part of the lyrics.

You Can’t Bring Me Down – by Suicidal Tendencies.

“Just cause you don’t understand what’s going on don’t mean it don’t make no sense, and just cause you don’t like it, don’t mean it ain’t no good
And let me tell you something: Before you go taking a walk in my world, you better take a look at the real world, cause this ain’t no Mister Roger’s Neighborhood

Can you say “feel like shit?”
Yea maybe sometimes I do feel like shit. I ain’t happy ‘bout it, but I’d rather feel like shit than be full of shit!
And if I offended you, oh I’m sorry But maybe you need to be offended
But here’s my apology and one more thing…fuck you!

An awful song that I heard when America’s Got Talent was on briefly last night.

I’ll be in my studio
in my studio
in my studio
in my studio.

HGl3ee's avatar

@Draconess25 : Haha I agree 100% on that, eep!

Simone_De_Beauvoir's avatar

@marinelife Bwahahah, yeah we watched that too – hahahh..oh, Spongetta…Alex and I came up with a little skit in which we played Spongetta’s mother when she was pregnant and she was doing the dishes, right…and so she’s washing a cup and she goes “Soo, what should I name my child? Spongetta or Cupperella?” and that’s how it all went down, lol.

I always have a song stuck in my head, but at the moment it’s “King of Anything” by Sara Bareilles.

Who cares
If you disagree
You’re not me
Who made you king of anything

It’s a good song though. It’s even worse when I get a bad song stuck in my head. (For example, I constantly get “Cheer Up Charlie” stuck in my head and it drives me crazy)

By the way, I’d just like to say that I hate John Mayer.

I’ve had the weirdest, most random song stuck in my head for days! I wake up and it’s already going:

Some day somebody’s gonna make you want to
Turn around and say goodbye
Until then baby are you going to let them
Hold you down and make you cry
Don’t you know?
Don’t you know things can change
Things’ll go your way
If you hold on for one more day
Can you hold on for one more day
Things’ll go your way
Hold on for one more day

“Hold On” by Wilson Phillips

Ahhhhhh! lol

Draconess25's avatar

@HeatherGrace I have a feeling you listen to Skillet & Evanescence, as well. Am I correct?

Seek's avatar

@DrasticDreamer

….............I hate you.

DrasticDreamer's avatar

@Seek_Kolinahr It’s okay, I completely understand!

HGl3ee's avatar

@Draconess25 : Surprisingly I don’t. I use to listen to Evanescence years ago and have honestly never heard of Skillet, now I’m all intrigued :D

Draconess25's avatar

@HeatherGrace Do you like Final Fantasy?

HGl3ee's avatar

@Draconess25 : Sure do, I’m more of a World of Warcraft kinda girl though ;)

Always. So. Freaking. Annoying.
The worst one recently was courtesy of @mangeons… The Arthur kid’s show theme song:

And I say – Hey! (Hey!)
What a wonderful kind of day
If we could learn to work and play
And get along with each other.

ARGH!

Draconess25's avatar

@HeatherGrace Watch this. I think you’ll like it!

I’ve had this stuck in my head for 2 weeks.

Err, I’ve had the Propellerheads song Spybreak! stuck in my head for the last few days. It’s just an instrumental, but it’s really catchy, albeit repetitive.

It’s also the song from the lobby scene in The Matrix.

wtfrickinfrack's avatar

@Sarcasm that song used to freak me out so bad when I was little!

Aster's avatar

@jjmah No. I have not had that problem until I read Your message!

augustlan's avatar

@dverhey So good to see you!

Jude's avatar

@DrasticDreamer Thanks. ;-)

John Mayer has now been replaced by Wilson Phillips.

The Script’s “Breakeven” has been stuck in my head for like a week. Our radio station plays it constantly. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RgUo7IpiGwI

It’s gotten to the point where I’m like “omfg just get over her already. your relationship was screwed up anyway.”

dindinbaby's avatar

@wtfrickinfrack that is with out a doubt the most creeptastic song ever. The singers molestache doesn’t help matters.

zophu's avatar

always the worst songs that get stuck in my head, never the awesome and complex ones. i wish I was more musically-brained

Elton John’s “Tiny Dancer” (1973). That damned song was stuck in my head for over 3 months after Meg died. It was “our” song; I never want to hear it again.

Berserker's avatar

I’ve had this in my head all damn day. It’s still there!

I have my SO to thank for this….
I work at Burger King making flame-broiled whoppers,
I wear paper hat.

Would you like an apple pie with that?
Would you like an apple pie with that?

Ding, fries are done.
Ding, fries are done.
Ding, fries are done.
Ding, fries are done.

I gotta run.
I gotta run.
I gotta run.
I gotta run.

Don’t bob for fries in hot fat,
It really hurt bad and so does skin graft.

Would you like an apple pie with that?
Would you like an apple pie with that?

Where is the bell?
Wait for the bell.
Can’t eat the bell.
Where is the bell?

Ding, fries are done.
Ding, fries are done.
Ding, fries are done.
Ding, fries are done.

I work at Burger King making flame-broiled whoppers,
I wear paper hat.

Would you like an apple pie with that?
Would you like an apple pie with that?

Ding, fries are done.
Ding, fries are done.
Ding, fries are doneeeeee.

Thanks to my daughter and Lego Rock Band, I now have the following lyrics stuck in my head.

When it comes through your door
Unless you just want some more
I think you better call
GHOSTBUSTERS

Who ya gonna call?
GHOSTBUSTERS

Who ya gonna call?
GHOSTBUSTERS

I think you better call
GHOSTBUSTERS

Who ya gonna call?
GHOSTBUSTERS

I can’t hear you
Who ya gonna call?
GHOSTBUSTERS

Louder
GHOSTBUSTERS

Who ya gonna call?
GHOSTBUSTERS

Who can ya call?
GHOSTBUSTERS

Who ya gonna call?
GHOSTBUSTERS

Yes, I have a grandchild who absolutely loves, loves, loves Elmo. And, hey, there’s a great them song to the Elmo (can you spell fascetious). I get to hear it many times a day when I visit.

Seek's avatar

OMFG, @Auntie_Em

I can’t tell you how often I run around whistling the toothbrush song from Lazy Town, or the “we did it!” song from Dora, or “We are gonna play Blues Clues…”

OpryLeigh's avatar

For some reason I have Summer of 69 by Bryan Adams in my head.

Jude's avatar

For some reason, “Don’t Fear the Reaper”.
