What Shampoo Do Groomers Use to Make Dogs Smell So Great?

Asked by Aster (20028points) June 24th, 2010

I give them a bath, a good one, the female starts smelling bad within two weeks. The groomer bathes them, they smell fantastic for a month. What in the world do they use? They’re also extremely soft and I can’t figure that out either. Is it a closely-guarded secret?

I don’t know about the dog groomers, but I use Johnson’s Baby Shampoo. I have a dog specific shampoo, but since I don’t bathe him that often, maybe a few times a year, I use the baby shampoo & my little golden smells so good & feels so damn soft afterward & it lasts a while. Maybe try that & see how it goes. :)

@rpmpseudonym OK; I don’t have baby shampoo but I do have kids’ shampoo plus conditioner. I feel like walking back there and checking out what she used. “They” say to only use people shampoo on dogs but they have ulterior motives.
