How do I go about lightening my eyebrows?
I have jet black eyebrows and naturally light brown hair and would like to bring them to a chestnut or lighter brown. Also what are some good quality products for doing this? Thanks!

Well, from what I understand the FDA still cautions that people should not dye their eyebrows or eyelashes because it can injure the eye. I do dye mine when I dye my hair, but I am going darker, going lighter is probably more tricky. If you bleach it, you could probably use the stuff they sell for lightening lip hair like Jolen http://www.google.com/products?q=jolen&rls=com.microsoft:*:IE-SearchBox&oe=UTF-8&rlz=1I7DAUS_en&um=1&ie=UTF-8&ei=oSwsTKTWMYK78gbe5YWODg&sa=X&oi=product_result_group&ct=title&resnum=3&ved=0CDQQrQQwAg and if it gets too light or too red, you can dye it back darker or use a pencil daily to get it to the color you want. I used to use Jolen when my highlights grew out to retouch my roots, it is thick like a paste. Meanwhile, I am not recommending anything, and I have never tried that product on my eyebrow, and again remember the dangers of getting any of this in your eyes. Even the fumes might be irritating. But, if I had to guess those are my suggestions.
Maybe someone else will know of a different product.
And, by the way, there is nothing really wrong with having darker eyebrows, eyebrows help frame the eyes and the face and add drama. Blonds have brown eyebrows many times.
By the way if you try the bleach, just put it on for a very short time, even if ou have to do it twice. The directions on it are for completely bleaching hairs, you just want them a little lighter.
The other idea I had was to call Clarol’s 800 number and say you have dark brown hair and want to lighten it to medium brown, what product should you use. It will be for hair, but you could use it on your brows – carefully
I accidentally lightened mine by putting hydrogen peroxide on them when I was treating a bad break-out.
But if you’re really careful, you could try a little Sun-In, which is basically just bleach and peroxide (or it was in my day, some 20 years ago) Just a little on a Qtip. Don’t apply so much that it’s going to drip or you’ll get it in your eye.
Remember, it’s easier to repeat if you don’t get the results you want at first, but it’s a pain to re-colour them if you remove too much pigment. Easy does it.
Jolen is peroxide I think buy the way. The thing that is good about it is it is thick, compared to using liwuid peroxide that might have a better chance of dripping into your eyes.
