@missingbite according to Google it’s a chain of stores in the mid atlantic states
@Lightlyseared Ah! I guess I should have googled it. It just sounded strange!
Their headquarters (and first store) are located in…drumroll, please…Wawa, Penna.
And they have much better quality food than 7–11 and their coffee is terrific.
To the OP, I suggest you give their 800 number a call for your answer. Doubtful anyone on Fluther would know unless they also happen to work there.
I did as @Lightlyseared suggested and googled it. There is a career portion of their website. It mentions 401k but I didn’t see anything about time and a half. It looks like a great place. I wish we had one where I live!
Everytime I go back to Philly to visit friends I stop at Wawa as often as possible. I wish they had some here in MI. But no such luck.
Yeah. I mean, I’ll probably figure out the answer once I get my paycheck next week after July 4 haha
And yeah, @Buttonstc the coffee is awesome!!
I suspect they do. I think most of them, if not all of them, are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. I would be surprised if they didn’t offer at least time and a half for holidays. No one ever seems disgruntled when I go into one on Thanksgiving or Christmas because I forgot to buy eggs, or milk or butter, etc..
… and their butter pecan ice cream is my favorite ice cream in the world.
@missingbite That’s Wawa, not WaWa. :-)
@lillycoyote Thanks for the correction. I can’t wait to visit one of these places. The website makes them look great.
I worked at Wawa about 9 or 10 years ago. They paid time and a half if you worked the holiday back then, not sure if they still do though.
@missingbite They’re really just convenience stores, but the coffee is decent, I’m a big fan of their ice cream, as I mentioned, really too big a fan and they have a deli counter with hot and cold sandwiches and you can get a few deli meats and cheeses, so, if you ever have to to feed yourself at a convenience store you are not at all limited to one of those hot dogs that has been spinning on a metal roller in it’s hot dog grave all day.
I used to work at two separate Wawa’s, one right next to Wawa, PA.
Yes. They pay time and a half for holidays. This was from 2003–2005.
