Do you understand how the Home key makes fluther easier?

Asked by Dr_Lawrence (20019points) July 4th, 2010

How you you get back where you want to go after answering a question?

DO you page up or scroll up to the top?

Isn’t that a pain?

I generally use my Page-up while I’m going through my ”... for you” page. Every once in awhile, I go to the home button as a way to refresh the page, when I have to step away for awhile. When I’ve finished my “for you” pages, I go to the home button to get a start on the new ones.

To get to the beginning I just tap on the top of the page. And if I want to scroll I just use my finger.
Aw, the wonders of the iPhone.

page up is quicker when going up unless you want to go right to the top, i am a mac user i cannot imagine pc users do not have the same key for going right to the top…? my account gives the new questions and the lurve links…lots of scrolling is a pain, as always…

@tadpole

Of course PCs have a home key, but the last time I used a Mac, it didn’t have one…

I usually just hit the “backspace” key, it takes you to the previous page. Though, I can’t see how it’s terribly inconvenient to scroll up either.

There’s a “Home” button at the bottom orange square next to the jelly. Do you see it? Yeah, you can click it; it’ll take you home. (:

@cyndihugs Wow, you have just save me the issue of page up and a lot of frustration. How could I have missed that?

I wrote some bookmarklets that cover this. See them in action here.

“Home” and “End” are my two favorite keys on my keyboard. I never knew what they did ‘til someone from Fluther (maybe it was @johnpowell) explained them to me a while back. Life has been easier ever since!

@Ivan :: My Apple keyboard has them. But they are missing from laptops. Which makes sense since space is at a premium and barely anybody uses them.

here is my keyboard.

Real Computers have a HOME key! Perhaps Macs will have them some day.
