Do you need to file your income tax to receive the rebate?

My husband and I do not file income tax because we are retired and over 70.

I believe that is one of the requirements, that you have to file taxes.
I found the IRS’s website on the rebates here

Quote “Millions of retirees, disabled veterans and low-wage workers who usually are exempt from filing a tax return must do so this year in order to receive a stimulus payment.”

And I, also over 70 and retired, just got a printed form from the IRS that said the same thing as Perchik (bless him) found on the IRS site. The mailing, by the way, cost a gazillion dollars.

It would be a lot easier to call a local CPA than to try to navigate the IRS site.

Yes, the mailing that went out contained complete information.
