What songs make you think of summer?

Asked by chyna (51567points) July 8th, 2010

This has probably been done before, but what songs make you think of summertime? I can hear Peaceful Easy Feeling by the Eagles and think of hot summer nights camping with a campfire. What songs do it for you?

Summer Madness – Kool & The Gang.

Summer doesn’t officially begin until I play this song.

Harry Nilsson – Put the Lime in the Coconut

@cruiser I did not know Harry Nilsson sang that. I love that song, and it does remind me of summer and beaches.

If I hear anything from Back In Black by AC/DC, I’m immediately reminded of summer parties from high school.

Spielhur from Ramstein.
It has absolutely nothing to do with Summer, but it’s got extreme emotional value for me, for things that happened on a Summer some years back.

@Dr_Lawrence….Red Rubber Ball! By the Cyrkle! I cited that song in Fluther a few months back (one hit wonders). It does remind me of summer.

“Happy Together” by the Turtles.
“Lady Willpower” by Gary Puckett and the Union Gap
“Indian Lake” by the Cowsills
“Sitting On the Dock of the Bay” Otis Redding
“Summer Wind” Frank Sinatra
“Sealed with a Kiss” (cover) by Gary Lewis and the Playboys (“Well, it’s gonna be a cold, lonely summer, but darling, I promise you this, I’ll give you all my love…every day in a letter, sealed with a kiiiissssss..”)
“Georgy Girl” by The Seekers

All these songs are from summers when I was waist high to a garden gnome. But the radio was always on at our house and I remember these being played a lot.

Most things by the Beach Boys.

Summer may be coming to an end, but I couldn’t let summer pass without posting this song. It just oozes that good ole summertime feel. Enjoy the rest of your summer Jellies!

@rpmpseudonym Thank you! I had forgotten about that song, but I really liked it.
