The honeymoon is over.
This could be a political thread, or just an I hate / I love Obama thread.
Whatever you want.
Hung jury, in my case; still giving him the benefit of the doubt. Curious about a few things: the economy, medicaire, the two major wars and his handling of Generals McCrystal and Petraeus.
But then, I don’t vote in the US elections.

democrat…...underdog…..intelligent
I’m glad we dont have the other option….......things would be worse.
You say Obama, I think “just another politician”.
And sure enough, I was right. (Medical marijuana prohibition, warrantless wiretapping program, etc.)
That said I do still love my Obama bobblehead!
Our President. Should have been Hillary.
Handsome and a charismatic speaker. First two things that popped into me head.
Brilliant, Committed, Frustrated, needs to be more audacious!
…Black. Sorry to be the racist but that’s the first thing that came to mind.
An intelligent leader who can inspire people with his words, but when it comes to actions and policies, he’s a bit stagnant.
Hot air. Big production, little show. Meh, could’ve been worse, but could’ve been worlds better. Attractive mocha-colored skin. Cool, calm and collected. Made us look better to the world (not to me). Doesn’t believe gays should be allowed to marry because of his religion. Seems like a fun guy and good dad.
He’s a socialist and he’s turning this great nation into a communist country! He’s destroying the american dream. Where’s my white house and picket fence Obama???
I’m just kidding, he’s progressive; although he obviously can’t do everything right, I feel that he is making rationale decisions about some things. Like the second answer stated as well, he’s just another politician.
A lot better than Methusalem/Barbie Combo.
llama – you asked
I don’t think enough time has passed to be absolutely certain about how he is doing. I believe he wants to have more happen during his tenure than political game play.
Hype.
Also, if you’re leaving the question kind of open-ended, wouldn’t it be better in Social?
Charismatic, idealistic, frustrated, naive
Whatever. Same old shit, different face. I do have to say I approve of his frequenting burger joints as opposed to five star dinners. But otherwise, meh. I believe he has good ideas, but the system isn’t built to allow one person’s desires to change anything drastically.
@bob_ So far, so good here.
@Blackberry the American Dream is dead.
You say Obama, I think given the job of POTUS because nobody else wanted to tackle the shit this country was is in.
I’m glad I got to vote for him. If both side don’t like him he, has to be doing something right. He is doing a good job in a very tough situation.
@bob_ Definitely hype… I thought that, too. He’s like the Y2K of presidents.
@Randy What does black mean to you?
Barack to the future, maybe.
Puppet.
World Bank pillow biter.
@JLeslie That his skin is a darker pigment than mine. It wasn’t racist but I figured if I just put black, then I would be called out for being racist. So I decided I’d make fun of it myself before anyone else had the chance to.
A man beseiged on all sides.
Obama who?~
I agree with @JLeslie. My first thought is “should have been Hillary”.
Disappointment. I don’t know if I’m more disappointed at him for being just another politician or at or myself for hoping.
Just another politician..driven by personal ambition and power lust, corrupted by arrogance and disdain for “the governed”. No better or worse than just about all of them.
I think….....one term presidency and then it’s over. And maybe that’s a good thing too.
You say Obama, I think “oh, God, people are going to start screaming again. Best run for cover!!”
OK golfer…getting much better though!
A “checkmark”
The movie Idiocracy (2006)
American president?
Heh heh. I’m not from the US so that’s about all i know of the guy.
“I will bring our boys Home.” and “Socialist.” Good dad, though.
Another person who has no idea what a socialist is.
I think it’s time for the ultra conservatives to go back to school and get a decent education.
In Germany we would call someone like Barack Obama a social democrat.
The chief goal of modern social democracy is to reform capitalism to align it with the ethical ideals of social democracy while maintaining the capitalist mode of production, rather than creating an alternative socialist economic system.
Socialism is based on disowning private business owners and transferring all ownership of means of production to the state. Nothing like this is planned. Labeling Obama a socialist is cheap and dishonest right-wing polemics. It is wrong. Likewise is it wrong to label McCain or Bush to be a fascist. We should be more careful with the choice of our words.
@mattbrowne I am NOT a cheap dishonest right-wing polemicist. I can’t be; I don’t know what those things mean.
What I meant was Democrat. Not socialist, evidently.
@Aster That is the point, you can’t use Democrat and Socialist interchangeably.
@Aster – Sorry, I wasn’t referring to you. I was referring to people throwing around socialism without understanding what it means. Obama is not a socialist. Period. It’s as simple as that.
