Asked by sliceswiththings (11723points) July 11th, 2010

I said this about the last one, but I promise this is the last question about my yeast infection:)

I have a yeast infection. Is it okay to use my menstrual cup?

what is a menstrual cup?

@jazmina88 it’s like a tampon, but it collects menstrual fluid rather than absorbing it.

@mandybookworm How do you keep it from spilling

I have no clue… I didn’t know what it was so I googled it

i would say yes. a yeast infection is just an unbalence of the yeast and bacteria that every women and guy has in there body. when you have a yeast infection then there is more yeast then bacteria down there and they arent balencing. it is better when you have a yeast infection to use a menstrual tool that doesnt have to be placed internally in the body. you are then also putting whatever bacteria was on the tool inside of you which can irritate sometimes. im not a doctor just studying biology on a collge level. good luck and best advice to see a doctor and get that yeast infection cured :)

@jazmina88 @josie @mandybookworm It’s a wonderful invention! It’s a little silicon cup that you fold and insert and it collects everything. There’s a suction so it doesn’t spill. You take it out and dump it twice a day. I highly recommend it! I have The Keeper, but the Diva Cup is the most well-known.

I live in Massachusetts. They’re pretty recently on the market, I know plenty of people who haven’t heard of them. I recommend this website for lots of info on them.
Except the answer to my question, of course.
